Forum Sticker

Here it is. My idea for the Ultimate FZ6-FORUM.COM sticker.
Here's a RED CONCEPT:

attachment.php

You can easily visualize how a gold one would look. If anyone is willing to make a series of stickers like this, I'd totally buy. I'm sure others would too. I'll be back to talk about the other ideas later.

Like your design elm, but am afraid the this sort of thing is not a straight foward cut job. That sort of sticker would have to be printed and unless sombody want to give me £15,000 to buy the machine i am unable to do.

I'm at work at the moment, but will take a measurement later. Unless someone else feels like doing it.

if you are at work why isn't your bike with you?:justkidding:

I measured mine ('08 US version stock screen) and between the farthest points on the wind screen is 11" I think a sticker aroun 8" would be perfect. I also measured my swingarm (s2) and it is about 11" before it starts to curve in (towards the shock) So there also, 8" seems to be perfect. The only difference i would see is that a sticker on the windscreen (unless yours is black) should go on the inside (reversed/mirrored) so bugs and stuff dont eat it up.

in summary, a sticker for the windscreen (stock) or the swingarm (s2) should be approx. 8" x 1.5-1.75".

My bike IS with me, but I don't want to put on my soaking wet boots and trudge around in the rain until I absolutely have to. Plus, I only have one spare pair of socks with me! :Flip: ;) ;)

I imagine the distance of the 'top bubble' part of the Puig screen is slighty less than the entire width of the stock screen. I haven't found any detailed technical specs so I'll just have to measure it later.

I love Elm's design but understand how the "fade" of the yamaha logo is hard and expensive to do. I think minimad's "simple" designs would be the best option as you wouldnt have to "squish" any letters to make it fit in the small areas we are working with here. everyone put in their opinions and maybe we can get a poll/vote going. Lets get the ball rolling on this project. And another thanks to minimad for all his hard work

doorag, what "shade" of puig do you have? If the sticker was black could you see it through the screen? do you think it would be better to put on the inside or outside?

I have the dark smoke and was planning on putting a white sticker on the outside of the screen just along the top. You can see in this picture the 'bubble' part that I'd like to measure.

Re: Froum Sticker

I'd love to buy a sticker for my TOOL CHEST. Now would it go on the ratchet drawer or screwdriver? Hmm....

COLORS
If you're going to provide different colored stickers, I recommend starting with the FACTORY FZ6 colors available. That way, people will be able to match the sticker to the look of their bike (and perhaps riding gear) no problem.

SIZE
I've seen LOTS of company stickers from motorcycle companies. I'm sure you all have as well. They're generally 3 inches long (8cm) and 1 inch wide (2 cm).
-The SMALLER the sticker, the MORE places you can stick it.
-The BIGGER the sticker, the FEWER places you can stick it. It may attract more NOTICE, but your space limitations may prevent you from putting it in a good spot.
--SMALLER stickers are better in my opinion (see above dimensions).

LOGO
I've seen people from all under the rainbow SELL motorcycle logo stickers (hand made by themselves) without getting into any trouble. You type YAMAHA TUNING FORK on Ebay and watch what happens. (I want the coffee mug!)

WHAT I WANT
Here's an IDEA of what I want:

--Everything WHITE is CLEAR, so the sticker itself can be applied to any surface and reveal ONLY THE LETTERS AND LOGO.

I'm with ELM, stickers go on my tool boxes, not my vehicles. I've got a Craftsman box that has layers of stickers. It fun to look at because it brings back a lot of memories of the various vehicles I've had.

Regardless whatever you guys select, I'm in for a few.

Deal. I've started a new box too. The new only has "Race Tech", "ConvertiBars", and I think a Shoei sticker.

The old Craftsman has an old 107.7 "Psycho Baby" sticker. Now that is classic! You Central Texan Alt Rockers will remember that one.

I think it has a "Tittie Bingo" one too.

Ok, the bit at the top of the screen just above the Puig sticker is 12" across at the narrowest point on the upper bubble bit. I would imagine that one wouldn't want a sticker any more than 8-10" across I don't know. I'd have to see it myself to decide.

so it seems that most stickers are going to be right around 8" long.

off topic: Doorag, is that the racing screen? doesnt seem as tall as others i have seen (i'm up in the air between standard and racing versions)

Yeah, it's the racing screen. It really isn't that much higher but it makes a huge difference. It's a bit of an adjustment at first, but I can't really remember it being any different now.

+1. I like that layout minimad, I would personally like a smaller version to put else where on the bike. Thats just a bit to big for my taste. I think I would like to put one on my windscreen or fairing somewhere.

Would a smaller one be possible? I will probably buy two large swigarms anyway and put them on the truck window or something too.

So yea, Ill buy several of that last logo, just say the word when to buy and what all sizes you will have.

Don't kill me but I just had a thought. How about a mirror-image one for the screen so people can read it in the rear-view mirrors?

Also, on the way in this morning I saw another Fazer on the road and ralised that all I could really see of it was the side. That being the case, I'll probably put them where my Fazer sticker is on my side fairing. I wonder if the 8" one will be too big?
