I think so too. People in the Mid West in the US call the noon meal 'dinner' and the evening meal 'supper' too... at least some of them do.

dinner is evening, lunch is afternoon, breakfast is morning.

supper is what my grandmother calls dinner, but she says lunch for the afternoon meal.

I usually just go with I'm hungry.

I think so too. People in the Mid West in the US call the noon meal 'dinner' and the evening meal 'supper' too... at least some of them do.

so do "country" people in north carolina. my wife and i (after 10 years of marriage) still have difficulty making plans with the in-laws because my wife and i are breakfast, lunch and dinner people but my in-laws are breakfast, dinner and supper people.

Well here in Oz we do things right We start the day with Breakfast , then we have Lunch and then we eat Tea/Dinner depending on which side of the tracks you live on :thumbup:

This got complicated:
In England.

Breakfast is in the morning

Dinner and lunch can be the same thing BUT if someone said "I will see you at dinner time" you would expect to see them around midday. But they could also say "I will see you at lunchtime".

If some said "Will you come round for dinner" you would be going round for an evening meal.

Supper is usually a snack, late in the evening.

Well I hope that is as clear as mud. Funnily enough when the Brits talk to each other we never get this confused.
