Engine Oil Fill Capacity After removing oil pan

Hello everyone,

I had to change a leaky oil pan gasket and was wondering how much oil I should put in the system. I know that changing the oil and filter normally requires 2.8L but since I removed the pan, I would think that I would have to add more? In the service manual it states that 'total engine oil capacity' is 3.4L. Is that then the figure I should put in?

Put in 2.8L, run the engine and then check the level and adjust from there.
