Dyno without any mods

Good day.

I am considering PCIII and Dyno for my FZ6.

It is stock standard, so am I going to waste moneys if I do this with no mods? I consider it moneys wasted if I do not gain at least 3HP...

We have Dyno tuned all our cars and they gained a lot.:squid:

You should know that a baseline run is a very good thing to have if you plan on adding mods in the future. Also a good tuner can optimize the stock map. If you are planning on mods in the future I say this is a good idea. If not, than I think it may be a waste of money.

-Remeber mods can be as simple as gutting a stock exhaust and doing an air box mod!

I first tried the PC3 with the included stock map using my OEM set-up. I noticed the throttle response was much smoother and the soft spots around certain parts of the power curve were minimized. There was no increase in HP and or performance.

I then installed Akropovic exhaust with dyno-tested maps (provided by a gracious member online) and the results were superb. With the baffles out, I picked up around 6-7 HP and both the middle and top end performance was improved.

I only noticed a slight drop in fuel performance when riding hard but with conservative inputs the bike actual fuel consumption was unchanged.

The PC3 is a good investment and an added aftermarket exhaust is an even better choice. I went with Akropovic because with the EU baffles in it has the same DB noise level as the OEM. Pop the baffles out and the Fizzer makes a "Ducati" exhaust note....almost.

I am considering PC III and a mid pipe. I think that would add about 5HP, which is 2HP above my 3HP prerequisite.

I dont believe that the backpressure would decrease much through the mufflers, but rahter the cat, so I will go that route.
