well, since it's not closed YET i'll go ahead and throw this in there....
coming back from philly i was on 295 in VA. there was a BAD accident (as in bringing people out of the car wrapped in white sheets bad) and the four lanes of traffic were all pushed to one lade that went onto the shoulder once it got near the wreck. i came up next to a guy on a harley who had a semi in front of him and a semi behind him. felt pretty bad for the guy. kept wishing for his sake that lane splitting was legal and accepted in VA.
if legal i would do it in a traffic jam or getting to the front of a light. but it's not so i'm just left with dreaming.
