Devore fire

So I'm out today doing my usual ride up to Lake Gregory for coffee and then down 138 to Wrightwood, I get going west on 138 when I see some smoke off in the distance and the closer I got the worse it looked, problably should have headed down the 15 frwy then but hunger got the best of me and off to the Grizzly cafe in Wrightwood for one of their great hamburgers. Rode out a ways on ACH and then came back through WW and took Lone Pine Canyon over to 138. By that time traffic was backed up to LPC all the way to the 15, being the adventuous sort and knowing that just about every one was trying to get on the 15 south I took to the shoulder and made my way accross the 15 and headed back up the 138 to Lake Gregory along with a bunch of other folks who knew the way over the mountains. Was a fun ride and thanks to all the firefighters who got a really quick handle on the fire and if you were one of the people caught in the traffic jam I feel for ya.

So they have it contained already?
Gotta say that a plume of smoke like that is a very scary sight....fire can be so unpredicatable. Been there.

They have most of it contained and as of the 6:00 news were letting traffic through, still one heck of a traffic jam
