Definition of a squid

Here in NH without a helmet law, we have about a 85 - 90% squid rating. I'm the extreme minority when I go out ATGATT every ride.

We have a new wave of riders here too. Seems they all HAVE to have extended swingarms and think they are drag bikes!

I won't and trust me, her butt won't even get to test my saddle without some gear and a G string is not considered gear. I will however say to those that do take her on, they will now have moved from the Love Ride to the Squid Ride.

Um, her fine butt can test my saddle, but so long as we don't leave the garage, if you know what I mean, and I think you do...

LOL

Squids to me are the Oakley/shorts/no helmet or skullbucket/flip flop/sneaker wearing amatuers, (yes, I said AMATUERS,) who completely disregard any and all safety practices and perpetuate the common folks irrational and knnejerk fears about motorcycles.

These guys/girls can belong to any race and age group, though many don't make it to 30 years of age.
They can be on GSX-Rs or Harleys, or even and especially not excluded, dirtbikes and four wheelers.

Had one theother day who was flying up and down my street with a two year old, jumping the speed humps on a four wheeler with no darn helmets on.

God bless you Charles Darwin, but you didn't take into account trauma centers and modern medicine!!!

Would that be anyone that reflects badly on the riding public? You know, the guys that the non-ridiers point to when making a point on the bad influence of motorcyclists. The attention getters that ride extreme on the public thouroughfares. The 1% of riders that make the news running from the law and put the rest of us at risk. There are places, if you take the time to look, to indulge in this activity. GRUMPY

In the simplest of terms and for the most convenient of reasons, this would be any individual either young or old that rides with a total disregard for safety both to themselves and more importantly to others they may come in contact with.

Caveat: The are totally unaware of any a total disregard for safety both to themselves and more importantly to others they may come in contact with

Most squids are clueless to the fact that they are being dangerous.

The Idiot's Guide to Motorcycles 4th Edition defines it as a motorcyclist who rides sportbikes in a manner that is appropriate for the racetrack, but not for the streets.

i paraphrased there but you get the idea. no mention of gear in the definition there.

The way some people ride is especially not fit for the track. I don't see many riders in MotoGP trying to ride out 5th gear wheelies every straightaway.

Anybody that makes a reference to anything in super streetbike magazine sets off a red flag. Several times I've been talking to someone about bikes and the most intellgent thing they can come up with is something to the effect of "Yeah man, can't wait to get the new gixxer 5,000,000 and put like a HUGE +8 chrome swingarm on there!"
