Crazy low-cost alarm system

Thanks for the link man. It confirms what I thought. Yet another relay will be needed to complete this one.
 
No worries mate.

Bummer we cant have remote start on Oz models.The key has a transponder in it so the key has to be in the ignition.................sorta defeats the purpose,lol
 
I'm gonna need a relay? Aw, man! I really hope you guys can figure this out and give me some insight on which wires you connected to what, and what relays you used. I thought I could get this by myself, but I've never even dabbled into relays before. Shouldn't be too much more difficult, but I sure would appreciate anymore information you guys figure out.

You're going to need two relays man. I only had one on hand today or I would have had it working tonight. I'll take pics and walk you through the wiring when I get mine up and running. It's not too difficult.

I am going to attempt to install today. What type of relays do I need?
 
Here are the relay's I used. I would up using 2, and will probably wind up using another.

I took a couple hours today and wired up the remote start. I haven't had a chance to wire the flashers yet, but I did manage to get the remote start up and running. Now I have to build a final wiring harness as the one I have now was just thrown together under the tank.(seen above).

I'm installing everything except for the Immobilizer, which is the Grey and the Pink wires. I'm not to keen on cutting my ignition wire and running to through a $30 dollar alarm. I've tested it and it works as it should, but I'm still not going to do it.

If you have any specific questions about where wires go just ask. I'll tell you where each one hooks so you can get yours going.

On a side note: The control unit is not water proof, it's water resistant. I pulled mine apart to see how it was sealed and was shocked. No rubber seal or anything, just plastic on plastic. I gave it a healthy layer of silicone sealant on both the inner and outer rim and put it back together. I would advise everyone to do something similar.

We got everything hooked up except the engine immobilizer (which is not going to happen) and the remote start. Works great and is loud as hell!! Ant-mb where did you find the relays?

Same reason you gave. I don't want to be stranded somewhere if the thing fails, plus I am sure anyone that sets off that alarm is going to split! Tapped into the flasher.

I haven't got around to looking yet, do you remember where the Relay was? Save my lazy ass some time!:D
 
I have the scorpio 600 and I love it. It's waterproof and it extremely reliable. It's not a remote start but that's ok. I'd prefer to be there when my bike is running.

It has the proximity sensor, tilt, ignition/hot wire kill switch, and bump sensor. It's not as cheap as the one on ebay but the company and its products are spot on.
 
Hey Ant, my buddy has a couple question about the remote start wiring.
What color is the wire from bike that you used on the starter relay?
What color wire did you connect the orange wire to?
Did you use only one relay?
 
OK here goes.

You need one relay for the starter. This will be the blue wire on the alarm. You can't simply hook the blue wire to the starter relay because it need a negative charge. The blue wire from the remote provides a positive charge. Therefor you need to use a relay(let me know if you need to know how to wire a relay). The relay will need to be hooked to the blue wire on the starter relay. You can see the starter relay in my original pic of the relays. Trace the yellow wire from the left relay. You'll see it goes right under the big red wire in the connector. That is the starter relay and the blue wire it is going too is the one you need.

The second relay is used to provide power to your accessories. This one hooks up to the orange wire from the alarm and the brown wire from the ignition through the relay. I tried to just hook the orange wire from the alarm to the brown wire from the ignition, but it doesn't provide enough power to keep the bike running. You need to tap power from the battery through a relay.

There are two blue wires coming from the ignition that need to be spliced together. The bike will not start without them spliced. This is where the third relay may come into play. I spliced them together for now, but if they provide any drain to the battery being constantly connected then I'll install a relay. They are negative so I don't think it will be a problem.

Here is a pic of where i tapped into the ignition wires. Just trace them from the ignition to the frame and pull them up for easy access. You can also see the two blue wires that need to be connected.
