crash bungs

what tool is it that I need to take off the nut thing that the crash bungs go on to? It looks like I'll need some sort of giant allen key? Does anyone know what tool it is I need?

Not sure what crash bungs are, but if you mean sliders... then yes. You need an allen key. You have one in your tool kit that came with the bike that will fit it...

there are two allen keys in the tool kit, both woefully too small too fit!

If you are taking off the front wheel i know you have to get a special socket. The other allen bolts on the bike should fit whats in the tool kit.....

Strange, I have one in my tool kit that fits... Hmmm, maybe I added it later. Still, you can get one from your local hardware store for cheap...
