clutch buzz/noise

is it normal to have some kind of buzz when you release the clutch lever on the neutral (engine in on and temperature is about 170 or so)? When you press the leveler buss disappears.
An another thing. My d01 shows 101 (instead 97-100) @ open throttle, is it normal too?
I have late 2006 fz6 (basically 2007 model) with 3k miles.

Yup, probably just a little clutch lever rattle, check your adjuster, not too big of a deal, oh and :welcome: to the site!

Thanks a lot! This is my first Yamaha! I had mostly Suzuki SV's before...650 and 1000. Good machines, very easy with maintenance. Fz6 is MUCH better for commuting and light touring though...

oh yes, buzz comes from engine, not from lever.

it is a constant mesh transmission, meaning the gears are always meshed
and turning together (they are locked to the shaft with a device called
a synchro when you engage a gear) so when you are in neutral and the
clutch is out, you have a pile of gears engaged to each other spinning on
the shaft and that is the noise you hear, 100% normal

I only notice an engine buzz around 5k. For the most part on the highway I cruise at a higher rpm so this is a non-issue. Before I bought the bike I heard some warn about engine buzz but honestly it is so minor it is barely worth mentioning

It's normal. I noticed mine doing it when brand new on my test ride. The dealer's mechanic said that they all do that. Mine still does it 1100 miles later, though barely noticeable. If it's what I'm hearing - don't worry about it.

This is perfectly normal.Every motorcycle does that too.The noise was generated when the clutch plate disengaged from the clutch housing.
