Tiny little things aren't they? Don't know why, but I expected it to be bigger.

Yepper, that's all it takes. Just get it to the tightest "step" and tighten her down evenly. Spray away.

As for the syring lube, I'm sure it works great after a used cable has what ever crap is built up inside it, blown out, it'd be fine.

IMHO, lubing cables isn't the most exciting thing to do. I'd rather put the tool on, blow it out for a couple of seconds and re-assemble. I'm not just adding oil to the junk/corrosion already in the cable. If the cable is clean, (or new) probably a different story.

I cleaned the cable out and it's running a lot smoother, but I have another solution.

Myself and a neighbour (a well experienced engineer, metal worker, clock maker and motorcycle enthusiast) are going to replace the nipple at the clutch end. This way I don't have to bother adjusting the clutch pulley notch position, or buy another new cable.
