CBR1000RR Exhaust on 07 FZ6

Bought a stock CBR1000RR exhaust off craigslist for cheap so I messed around with it and got it to fit. Sounds pretty good with the exhaust drilled out and the flap removed.

I only have one pic from when I was test fitting it but I will take more. It is back apart getting painted black right now but will take pics and video when all done.

I may be wrong, but did you bend down the bracket that holds the rear license plate/turn signal assembly? Reason i ask is your license plate looks very close to the rear tire..... One good compression of your rear shock and you might do some damage...

I had the DIY license plate bracket like that all last year and never had a problem with it. It is bent up enough to clear even with a passenger.

Is that from an O7 or 05??? Some of the 5's have the flap and O7s don't iirc.

07 w/out: PN 18200-MEL-A20, MUFFLER ASSY.

SOME O5's with the flap:
18200-MEL-671 MUFFLER ASSY., EX.
18200-MEL-A01 MUFFLER ASSY., EX. VALVE AND E

And lets not forget; Honda was the first to use an actual Muffler Bearing!!! :welcome: 18197-MEL-000 BEARING, EX. VALVE

The guy i bought it from said it was from an 07. Picked it up for $30 and a $5 adapter from auto parts store and cut the CBR muffler and welded the adapter at the angle I needed and it slips right on. I have a large clamp going around the muffler and routed through the frame under the tail section to hold it in place. It sits pretty solid.

Painted it today with high temp black. It is hanging in front of my garage heater now curing.

Hanging up to cure? Why not throw it on the FZ and heat it from the inside out

I will once it has the initial cure and is strong enough to withstand the install. Plus I cant go ride because we still have tons of snow on the ground. So it will just have to be idling for a while to heat up.
