I just can't put my head around this one!! why would someone bondo and paint over Mr.Yamaha's signature?these are pic's from me cleaning the engine on the chopper.I was just trying to understand why this was done in the first place.Low self esteem maybe?how could you buy a Yamaha and be ashamed of it?I just don't get it!!:don'tknow:

Yea it is funny!!how could a man be so weak he could let someone else influence him enough to do something like hide a yamaha badge?Yamaha's are awesome!!!!the best bike's to ever grace the road's with their presence!I'm very proud of my babies and would never let anyone degrade them!!!

It's the belief that having a jap sportbike is tolerable, but if it's a cruiser it MUST be HD otherwise it is shunned. That's how it is around milwaukee. They shun the metric cruisers like they're sportbikes...

I've never removed the logo from anything I own, but I LOVE futzing with the thing. I have a Roland keyboard amp that, with a little razor saw work, became:

Very few people, even very few musicians catch this, but they get a good laugh when they do catch it.
I used to play a Yamaha EX-5 synthesizer (yeah, same company; or at least, used to be...) and I removed the "Yamaha" portion and replaced it with "Yomama" Wish I had a pic of that...

That suck's. I know people like that,and I don't like them.I don't follow the crowd myself.i do what I like and I ride what I like.I love the way Harleys look and sound,but I just don't want one.I know they are Great for holding their value,and they have alot more parties than all the other bike brands put together,but it's just not for me and I would never talk bad about another man's cycle.that's why it doesnt make sense to me someone would bondo over the name of the manufacturer.

I totally agree with you on the clean look and like you I would never go to the extreme of bondo on the engine.

It's only in the last 10 years that Japenese branded cruisers have had "cred" in the market place....i remember riding my Yamaha XV 750 in London back in the late 80's, riding past a traffic cop, and him sniggering at me as i went past, and saying...."Nice Yamaharley mate!" with a very sarcastic tone!

Used to get this sort of stuff with that bike all the time....funny thing was, it was a way better bike than most Harley's anyway...so the laugh was on the detractors!!!!

Nice to see that attitudes have changed these days...
