Parted company with the Fazer yesterday for a 2010 BMW R1200GS low suspension model that had only done 2644 miles and was in as new condition and fitted with BMW vary panniers.
Rode home about 50 miles in the sunshine and was pleasantly surprised how nimble it is. I have always wanted a GS but never felt happy with the height of it as I have a 29" inseam. This model allows me to get both feet firmly on the floor without having to worry about road camber and pot holes.
The modding started as soon as I was home.
Front fender extender
SW Motech engine protection bars
2nd hand BMW Vario top case
Jobs left to do :-
Find mounting point for iPhone (gps)
Fit front power socket
Get the wife to acknowledge the bike and my existence ! :spank:

Good luck with that wife thing too. Mine grumbles about my two motorized wheels in the garage.

Thanks Guys, I'm really pleased with it and surprised how easily she handles, I thought it was going to be tough going back to big bikes again but the low suspension model inspires confidence when needing to put a foot down at a halt or paddling it into a parking space while still astride it.
I would like to stick around this forum, its sooo much friendlier than other sites I've visited.
