Well, there's a huge bushfire here in Bullsbrook. Only 5kms away but the wonderful fire brigade and bush volunteers have held strong. Saved 30 homes so far. We are stuck at home - the cops habe a roadblock 2 properties down. If we leave we can't come home. Great Northern Highway is closed - it's a major trucking route so there are triples backed up for miles!
We have the cars packed (photos, paperwork etc and my bike ;)) and if we have to get out we are GONE.
This is what I was driving home to last night..... And a pic of my baby ready to go. Leaving the XJR for insurance (well, it's NOT a FZ6 is it?). No, we can't take everything.

Oh God...this brings back bad memories! You & Mike stay safe and we will all be thinking of you. Check in as often as you can and may the wind be in your favor.

Thanks Bren.

Bit frustrating being stuck at home, but the cops told us at 6am this morning, if we leave we will not be allowed home and who knows for how long.

And Mike only has 5 beers in the house...........

All jokes aside, hats off to the emergency workers - they're doing a great job

Trust me...it's better to be stuck at home than to have to leave it! The worry and stress is something I don't wish upon anyone.
And I admire the crap out of firefighters

Sorry you're going through this. We know what big fire are here! I've gotten sick after days of particulate in the air. No fun.

You and Mike cuddle up and stay safe! :)

I have learned that at any given point in time, Australia is either:

A) On fire.

B) Under water.

Occasionally, you will find a brief moment as Australia transitions between these two states, but usually during this stage you are busy with this:

Thanks everyone.

It's contained at the moment. Still can't leave our house though - and Mike's out of beer

Hope all goes well! Good thoughts and vibes being sent to you and all emergency personnel involved. Being a firefighter myself, I know how bush/grass/prairie/wild/whatever you want to call them suck! I'm sure they would love a few brews right about now, too!

We are free! They have let us leave AND we are able to return home! Still 170 controlling the fire but it's burning back on itself. No one hurt and no houses lost.

Huge shout out to all you fire fighters - you do an incredible job :cheer:

Supermarket/bottle-o here we come :D
