Broken Tooth?

Sooo, I was greasing the chain today and found a broken tooth on the rear sprocket (yes?, the toothy metal on the rear wheel that accepts the chain)

Does this just happen?? Should I not ride until I get it fixed? is it tough/expensive to get fixed??

How many miles do you have on the original chain/sprockets?
It's either do to wear or improper chain tension(causing the chain to skip a tooth and rip one off)

I got the bike used about 600 miles ago... He said he put a new chain on... its definitely not stock... The chain does seem a little loose but Ive been keeping it lubed and haven't noticed any problems...

In the meantime...
1... is it safe to ride?
2... I'm no Cooter, but I've spent enough time around a toolbox, is it tough to replace a sprocket? I assume I have to pull the wheel, is it tough??

Its easy man. You can do it.
Really ought not to ride it with something broken though.

I've got missing teeth on my mind, as my daughter is about to lose her top front tooth. I thought the thread was going to be about a human tooth in the chain. Now THAT would be an interesting thread.
