Bought a Buell today!

Awesome bike. It looks a lot like the speed triple I was trying to buy but went with a zx-14 :D

We need a 'former fazers' section on this forum ;)

You Suck! :banghead: I wanted a buell but they were too expensive. Keep me in mind when you decide to get rid of it and return to the roots.

One thing I like about them is you can be around a group of Harley riders and not feel to much out of place.

wait... that's a good thing? :spank:

I hate Harley separatists who think anything other that the antiquated lump of junk they ride is crap.

ok sorry for the rant but I have worked in the motorcycle industry for a while now and Harley guys are so stupidly closed minded. Oh... and by the way, Buell riders are shunned by Harley riders and most sport bike riders too. I owned a Buell for 2 years.

You picked a fun bike, Wavex but I would have gone with the standard height model if it were my money... actually, I would buy a Ulysses if I were buying a Buell... but that's another story.

that is 1 sickass bike but how well do those front brakes work ?

The brake rotor is mounted to the outer rim instead of the hub. The calipers are reversedwith the pads pointing up to grab that HUGE rotor! Exceptional stopping power.

What the hell(the picture)? That's just wrong on so many levels.

+1

i wanted to add to my harley hate post by saying not all HD riders are what I called "separarists." Some guys who ride harleys do approve of "jap bikes" and some own both hd and jap bikes. It is beyond my understanding why anyone would buy a harley when yamaha makes bikes like the Raider, Roadstar, and Roadliner, but that is a different conversation.

so, wavex, did you ring the "freedom bell?"

So David!!!! Where's the pics of YOUR bike? With you on it?!? :D

They DO exist, he just needs to post up. I took David to pick up his shiny new Buell yesterday and we took a quick ride up Angeles Crest Hwy. to break it in.

I don't want to take away from his story so I'll let Wavex fill in the details.

First thoughts, "Wow thats a huge front brake rotor?!?"

But overall it looks like a very cool bike, cant wait to see pics of the real deal.

*cough cough Wavex* ;)

wow man, thats a pretty sweet bike man. when i clicked the link for this thread i was ready to post some kind of sarcastic "wtf no yamaha?" comment....but thats a badass bike. good buy man.

short overall length? looks like it from pics. looks like itd be super fun.

Very short indeed, 75.7in.

Full review to follow...

Congrats David! Blue finally wins! :D

Sliders and a FE Kit and you're DONE! Sweet!!!!!!

Thanks Eric! The bike has frame sliders when you buy it... they`re "pucks" as Buell calls them, and protect the frame (I hear they work great too, are cost $50 to replace)
