jrevans, do you have any idea if these would require fabing up a mounting plate, or would these simply connect to the H4 and H7 mountings. I know I would have to take the lenses off to get the projectors in, but I am just curious about how these mount on the back. Thanks.

As far as I can tell, once you remove the lens via the oven/heat-gun method, these projectors should fit into the FZ6 headlight housing, without having to disturb the reflectors or mangle the headlight hole on one side.

They seem to have a universal mount system for the bulb hole, and if it's like the other ones that I looked at, that means that they ship with a couple different sized adapter rings which fit onto the end of the projector. Put the proper H4 / H7 adapters on and the projectors should fit right into the FZ6 housing with no mods.

I'd love to be the first to try them, but (not to beat a dead horse...) I've been unemployed for eight months now, so cash flow is a bit on the thin side. If somebody wants to buy me a set, I'd be more than happy to install them on my FZ6 and verify that they work correctly for our application. :thumbup:

I'm looking into them. I have send the store a e-mail. If i like there response i will order a kit with 6K HID and CCFL's. And see whats what. They are not that expensive.

The only question is will i install them in my current bike or the upcomming one.... But thats a other Topic

I just ordered the a 6K HID + White CCFL H4+H7 kit. I hope i will get it in about 2 weeks.

With a bit of luck i will also have my new FZ6 S2 by then. I'm gonna install them in the new bike.

I like the idea of painting the Reflectors black. Only problem is that you cant return that back to stock without replacing the reflectors. Owh well i have two weeks to think about that

I'm also thinking of making a separate switch to disable the Low beam. So that only the dome lights and the CCFL's are on. And i might order Orange leds for the Domelights. I now have 5K5 White leds. But that might be to boring

I bought the same projector kit as that from a member here, I painted the reflectors black and very glad i did. One thing I would also do if i could do it again is paint the outside of the reflector black and would love to find black rubber gaskets that go between the reflector and the projector. One other note when you get all done before you put the lens back on make sure you meticulously wipe off all fingerprints from the lens of the projector. I missed on on one of mine and with the headlights on you can see it clear as day
In this pic if you look at the right side light at the base of the projector you can see the white seal.

If you just want the angel eyes and pod lights on for show, I think that would happen if you wire your halos separate from the headlight and then just turn on the key without starting the FZ6. I know that when I first turn my key on, the pod lights are on, but the headlights are not.

Yes i ordered them from Kassabian9898. They can make you a special kit with one H4 and one H7 instead of 2x H7 or 2x H4.

About the "Halo's". i also want to be able to only use the halo's while driving. I already wanted to wire the halo's to the pod lights. But i also have to lookinto adding a extra switch to disable the lowbeam. I already have a idea for that. But i have to look into it.

With a bit of luck i will have my new bike next week. And the HID's 2-3 weeks later.

About your color's. 4K5 is already quite white compared to stock. Not as white as 6K tho. The also call 6K Iron White. I now have 4K blue vision bulbs and they are more clear then the stock 3k2-3k4 bulbs. I think that will give a nice effect with a yellow/orange halo.

At the moment i use the Dirty Dual headlight mod = Wire from the +12v of the H7 to the top connector on the H4. Because of that low beam is alway's on. When you flip the high beam switch lowbeam is still on.

Is it true that the bd43 mod will disable the low beam when the high beam goes on?

I tested the hid having the wires connected for the lowbeam all the time. Next i connected the high beam and it did switch the lense to the highbeam setting. But if i only power the high beam wires its on high beam all the time.

2: Second question: How did you guy's stick all the boxes against the cowl. Like the ballast, relay and the controller. Will industrial dual sided tape work? I used dual sided tape in my car (inside the unit) but it got to hot and the relay came down again.

I dont want that to happen to the bike. In the car i made a support brace but then i have to drill in the cowl and that will look ugly on the outside so i dont want to do that.

Do you guy's have a good mounting tip for me?

Its a nicer way to do it. But i did some more extensive testing and it does not seem to matter if you connect 2x 12v. Anyway. Can you tell me what type of pin you need for that connector? i have the pin that goes in the connector for the bulb. But not for the connector under the gas tank.

I will get some superloc 3M tape aswell. Dont want it to come off while driving.

Just ordered my bi-xenon HID projectors

Well, like Astennu, I emailed the eBay person from this store:

and asked about getting a H4/H7 combo kit. They said no problem, just tell me in the email after you paypal.

So, I ordered a set of these:
H4 9003 Bi-xenon projector HID CONVERSION Kit Hi/Lo New - eBay (item 130343248669 end time Aug-06-10 01:16:14 PDT)
And told him that I wanted one H4 projector, one H7 projector, 4500k color and yellow angel eyes.

Yes, that means that my eight+ months of unemployment is almost over, as I received a job offer on Monday. :rockon: :cheer: :Flash:

Now, I need to go back and read the thread about wiring, unless Astennu explains how he does his.

I need to know one more thing to complete the wiring but in the sort you need to do the following: (i'm doing this from my memory because i'm not at home right now)

HID --> Ballast --> Main Controller box (fits in only one way)
Angle eyes --> Main Controllerbox (with round 4 pin cable)

From the main controllerbox you have 3 more wires:
1: the two CCFL + and - if you connect those to a 12v battery your CCFL's will light up.
2: battery (gound?) wire's
3: 3 pole connector where the motor light bulp connector goes on.

Now to light up the HID. You need to connect that battery ground + and - to the battery. Next you need to connect the 3 pole connector:

... --- ....
| ....... |

Its looks a bit like the picture above. From left to right: Ground - Low beam - High beam

So if you connect the Gound to - on your battery and the lowbeam to the + the hid will start to light up. (remember CCF will be off because thats a separate wire). (so far as i know you dont need that extra box with the other 3 pole connector and the 2x white and 2x blue wires. because we cant control the high and low from our 3 pole connector if you mod it correctly)

If you then connect the highbeam HID will go on and flip the lense/reflector (inside the housing) to the high beam setting.

What also works is connect a wire to the lowbeam and then also connect one to the highbeam and the + you will see it switch to the highbeam mode. When you release it will go to low again.

I dont know yet if this is the proper way to wire it. HID's are Gas discharge they take time to go to full light intensity. Normally you dont want to disable the hid to switch modes. I dont know how fast the bd43 mod is might be almost instant in that case the hid will say on because it switches so fast.

But i'm still looking in to that one. I need to get a good connector pin first.

I'm gonna hook my ccfl's up to the POD lights. So they are on as city lights. And i'm gonna add a switch between the + of the lowbeam because i want to be able to drive without the hid's.

I hope this will help you. I recommended that you first test he units before you install them. wont be fun if you see that one is not working after you installed everything.

Thanks. I went with 4500k since they are supposed to have the maximum light output and I'm interested more in performance than appearance. I went with the yellow halos to avoid potential lawman harassment, and since my pod lights are also amber.

My pod lights are wired up to flash alternately with my turn signals, so I can't wire the CCFLs to that due to their warm up nature. I plan to hook them up to the running lights somehow.

I hope this will help you. I recommended that you first test he units before you install them. wont be fun if you see that one is not working after you installed everything.

Thanks for the tips. I'll hook my meter up to the factory harness wires and see what I need to do in order to get the effect that I want. I definitely will check it out before installing it.

How are you guys reattaching the headlight housing lens after removing it for the install in the oven. Does it simply stick back again, or is 3M adhesive involved.

I really want to check light alignment before reinstalling the lens plastic.

So, for the readers of this thread, the important thing to note is:
"Kassabian9898 Car China" on eBay sells projector HIDs at a good price, and will mix and match H4 and H7 projectors in the kit, which we need for the FZ6.

Also, I was pleasantly surprised when they emailed me that they are sending the order via FedEx. I was expecting the normal, slow, Hong Kong Post method that my cheap stuff from China usually gets sent as. They said I should receive the lights in five to seven business days. Sweet!

I talked to him via ebay messaging and he also let me know I could buy one of each. I'm trying to save up some money to order (which means one of you should go buy my Wii on the selling board :cheer and then hopefully it's not terribly complicated to put in.

I have blue pod lights so I was thinking about getting 6k with blue angel eyes - should look good, right? I'm hoping it's not some cheesy faded looking blue. I still might do the white for a clean look, plus it will match any pod light color, not sure.

Anyways, like the other guy I was also wondering how these get mounted in the housing. I know I have to pop the headlight open in the oven, but how does the actual housing stay inside of it? Is it just 3M tape? Does it come with what's needed to keep it in there?

Basically, I'm trying to come up with a list of EXACTLY what I need to do the ENTIRE thing so I know what I need to spend. So the kit from eBay, a spool of like 18 or 20 gauge wire, electric tape, fast disconnects, and 3M velcro to mount the ballasts. That's it, right?
