Australian Battered Potatoes?!

cliff dont do it , just the smell of vegemite makes me dry reach. The strange thing is its suppose to be the left overs from making beer, and you know what i think about beer but vegemite, no way. One of my favs is filling the holes of cheezals with peanut butter, and chowing down.
 
Awww, not liking Vegemite, thats just strange!

Cheezals and peanut butter seems a bit sickening though, not in a bad way, just in a omg so bad for you way!
How about celery filled with peanut butter :p

Roo is very good, the sirloin is amazing, emu I've found to be pretty terrible the time I tried it!

If they had to make NZ's coat of arms in modern times it would have a sheep, and they eat(amongst other things) them thats for sure

As for the cheezels filled with peanut butter ...... (insert vomit smiley)...... :eek:

Yes! I saw the Cheezals on the website but didn't know they left a hole in them for an apparently good reason.

And yes I do know what you think of beer. You should have one of those medical bracelets that tells when a person has a medical condition, so that if you ever end up unconscious in a hospital they'll know to put beer in the IV instead of the regular chicken,steak and potatoes! :rof::rof::rof:

Okay, I did have to google up the "Aussie Dictionary" again. I am very happy that DEAD HORSE is a tomato product, and not a literal translation. (Is there ANYTHING in Oz that IS a literal translation???) :Flash:

Ha, loving this thread. MotoG, which site are you going to for your Aussie shopping?

My tip for Vegemite is to use about 3:1 ratio of butter to the Vegemite. After a while you'll be doing it 1:3....! I love the stuff. Every morning it's either that, or honey on a bagel after my cereal.

You forget the cultural differences between us all here until a topic like this comes up. I'm interested to hear more about other local recommendations. Oh, and our Canadian friends will be happy to hear I only buy and use Camp Maple Syrup :)

Here's the link but yesterday they said they were out of stock. I was going to call t'day but had a lot of fires to put out and got busy cooking dinner.

Yes I'm also enjoying sharing culture and making friends with the likes of you folks. It was so great when Jules and Deb came. Some times we had a rough time of it on the telly which entailed repeating something five to ten times because of our accents Hahaha! Face to face it was easier..

At one point we went to a Walmart. It wasn't a Super Walmart but......

Jules: Hey Deb look!
20 dollars American for a case of Miller! It's 40 dollars Australian!
Deb: Yes that is cheaper!
Jules: We should by a case and bring it back.
Deb: How would we bring it back?
Jules: In your luggage!
Deb: I would have to leave some of my cloths!
Jules: So...?

Ha that's site's funny. Some shoddy stuff there like the Black & Gold fruit cake! And Ginger Bears, never ever seen them, sounds horrible.

So you guys don't get Milo? That's worth a try if you haven't already. And the Maggie Beer quince paste is unreal (as is her Pheasant Farm Pate - it's my favourite thing)

Haha! I ordered my Vegemite! In no time I'll have a beer in one hand and a vegemite sammy in the other :rof: Hahaha! This is fun! haha!

Didn't see the Milo but now I have a hankerin for some hot cocoa with big marmallows melting in the middle. Looked it up on Wiki and looks like another really good product. I like the packaging!

Lisa won't let me order Boomerangs cuz she knows I'll learn it good and take the top of something off......:eek:

That's a definite for me. I've always wanted one and I seem to be able to make noise from just about any instrument given a chance. The didgeridoo is on my priority list.
Maybe I'll start with a home made PVC didgeridoo. Now to learn circular breathing.....Hmmmm....:steve::steve::steve:

I play the Didgeridoo Cliff , there are photos of my 2 on the forum somewhere :thumbup: Practice your circular breathing with a straw & a glass of water , start by filling your cheeks with air & blow bubbles in to the water through the straw by using your cheek muscles , now inhale through your nose at the same time :eek: its not really as hard as it sounds :D
