Lisa and I went for a ride in the same area yesterday. We stopped at the Pinehouse for a bite. While there a first responder vehicle went by with lights and siren ablaze. Luckily it wasn't a serious deal. We found the rescue crews. tending to a guy in his 70's who took a spill while trying to handglide off Kwaaymii Point lookout. One person held his wingtip a little too long...

And did anyone notice these near Jacumba on the way in and out?

Started out as nine, ended up twelve bikes (two rides doubled up). Watch out guys. ;)The ratio closed in a little on this day: 11 males, 3 females. What two excellent pinion riders! Suzuki, Ducati, Yamaha, Triumph represented. Beautiful weather! Anyway, what a Border Patrol ride! For me it continues to be a memorable experience seeing up close the int'l border fence (some "fence") between Mexico and the US (Bonus: Border Patrol unit surveying scene from hilltop). It's such a unique post-Cold War scene. Loved the Pine House café where we did lunch (I recommend the Cajun Chicken Salad special). Service & fare were outstanding! Julian Pie Company was an excellent subsequent stop. I got to meet some more SoCal Hoons! These rides are turning out to be a melting pot, so many backgrounds..

Sunday, on my ride back I only managed to squeeze 50 miles on reserve (looks like my rear pads are hanging up!) coming out of Ventura on CA 33. The AAA guy (a Ducati owner) didn't spill a drop on my tank. Back on the road, twisted through Ojai, then continued on CA 33 through Taft, Coalinga, then hiways 198 and 25 to Hollister and on.

Border Patrol pics...
