Are You Thankful?

Hi guys,
It's almost Thanksgiving, and I was just curious what you guys/gals are thankful for this year?

I know what I am thankful for:

1) I am thankful that I am alive given my recent accident on the bike. Frankly, I'm in pretty good health considering what happened.

2) I am thankful that my house didn't burn to the ground in the recent SoCal fires. I live in Yorba Linda and was about 150-200 yards from the flame front.

3) I am thankful that I have an amazing family who cares about me and will be there for me at a moments notice.

4) I am glad to have wonderful friends like the people I have met on this forum.:thumbup:

What about you guys/gals?

Why do we "Americans" give thanks on thanksgiving ? Think about it !!
I am proud to be an American, but not proud of how America came to be .

I'm thankful that I'm Irish with a history that goes as far back as 8,000 BC.

No disrespect to our american cousins on this site, I honestly dont understand why Americans think that fighting results in your country being free? When you believe your fighting for freedom for your own country by fighting and destroying a country thousands of miles away you have a serious problem.

You should be thankful for your health, family, friends, life, and for a country that offers everything you need in short distances! America is a good country, cherish it and dont be proud of fighting in a foreign country.

Um, I think you are missing the point of Thanksgiving.

The first Thanksgiving was one of the few times we (the US) got it right. We were not at war and were living peacefully with the natives. Be proud! The PC crowd has diminished the true meaning of Thanksgiving, thanking God.

People not in America need to understand that most Americans don't agree with what our military is doing right now. We have no business being where we are right now, much like the Vietnam war 50 years ago. Given that, I am proud that my friends who are in the military are there to protect my country, but that doesn't mean I agree with each battle our country puts itself in. We need to be more focused on domestic issues, not foreign policy right now.
