Anyone know what the charging system is rated for on an 09? Trying to figure out if I have enough "headroom" for a pair of 55 watt pencil beams. Yes, I live in the country, and I leave early.

Alternator rating is about 310 Watts. It has been reported that the bike needs about 250 Watts with the high beam on (or the bd43 headlight mod), so figure about 200 - 210 Watts with just the stock low beam. Your 2 x 55 Watt lights will take the system right to the edge, you'll be in a deficit if you turn on your high beam or do a dual headlight mod.
