Freedom of speech.

It gives Hollywood a lot of freedom...the only thing that really tempers Hollywood's ambition is whether or not people go to the movie/buy the DVD.

It's also the same reason Hollywood gets to make movies with such obvious Socialist agendas like "In Time" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1637688/. I got burned by this one. Thought it looked like a cool premise, didn't realize it was going to try to force Socialist agendas down my throat.

Don't like the plot? Don't see the movie. It's simple, really. And if you watch a movie and think it really sucked, tell others, then go to the leading actor/actress's mansion and demand your money back. http://www.southparkstudios.com/clips/154469/mel-gibson-is-crazy

That's nothing. Check out this awesome T-shirt:

"...The true telling of the Intergalactic Civil War in an alternate time line where the laws of reality don't exist. May I present to you Teddy Roosevelt as a bear, riding atop Ab Lincoln, who is shooting laser beams out of his eyes."

Laser beams! I didn't know that the civil war was intergalactic, either. Education in the South is weird, I guess.

Yup. There's also The Island, (http://m.imdb.com/title/tt0399201/) with a more right-wing agenda, though I generally try to separate moral issues from politics. I get mixed results, though.

Don't get me wrong I'm all for freedom of speech, but can you imagine if Hollywood tried to make a movie about Obama being a kkk assassin?

I guess some things I would think common sense would take over, guess not

I can see it now....Critics are raving.... what a title that would be. You dont know the half of it. A few months back I was looking up movies to buy for blueray, via HD digest. They had a release date posted for a movie. Guess what the title was?

"Nude Nuns with Big Guns."

I couldn't help but think, how ridiculous...Then I started to wonder what kind of production company would put forth such an effort to tell such a story?

I'll watch it. I saw previews for it in theater months ago and thought it looked neat in a turn off your brain and watch some dude hack vampires to death with sweet wood ax kind of way. There's also a book the movie is based on.

IT's not as far fetched as some stuff that comes out of Hollywood. Zombie Strippers. FIDO (movie about a kid with a pet zombie). TED (stuffed bear comes to life and grows up with a kid. BEar is voiced by Seth McFarlane) Stuff like that. It doesn't have to make sense that's what's great about imagination.
Yup that's George Washington Smoking zombies in a hospital.

Don't forget that the new Abe Lincoln movie is an adaptation of a novel. People will see it, the movie studio will make money... There are plenty of alternative history movies out there. I like King Arthur (2004) myself!

Absolutely. Thou shall not deny the creative mind... Hollywood has been doing it for years. Not so ridiculous as one might think if you were in film. After all, we wouldn't have such great break through movies if it wasnt for all the Killer Clowns, Piranha, CHUD, movies etc.
