Hi All,

Had my nice new one of these a few weeks now, having decided to start the daily commute to work, the gixer does not quite do the trick for me.

So 0% finance deal and £200 down and I'm in! Wow what a buzz this toy has, now covered just under 800 miles and it is such a great piece of kit.

So thought I would join here as I know I already need help with fitting of a Yam / Datatool alarm that I have just had delivered.

Cheers to you all and looking forward to fun in the Sun, oh damn I am in the UK, oh well better get my waterproofs out then.

Hi Ian,

Welcome to the site. There is quite a few Brits on here, although we don`t all live in the UK.

What does the comp white bit mean?

You need to get some pics posted so we can all see you and your bike.

There is some really useful info on here so enjoy it.

Hi Steve,

Comp = Competition, it's Yamaha's description of the colour, has a nice red stripe down the centre of the tank.

Already browsing the suspension mods, as I only have 3 things so far that I think are not quite how I would like:

1 - mirrors, had another go at adjusting them yesterday so hope I can see more than my elbows soon.
2 - can't get the damn ignition key out easy due to clutch cable routing.
3 - It does not have adjustable suspension, but then it also did not cost me the price of a sports bike.

All in all, I cannot fault this bike for comfort, power, useability and looks I am hooked on it and the gixer may well head back to it's former track-day attire.

The white looks well nice with the red stripe. Very retro.:thumbup:

The Power Blue is of course better. :D

Competition white with a red racing strip, very cool. Welcome to the forum.... Post some big pics when you get a chance.

very nice, congrats once again. Have you considered painting the tail parts white to match the tank? i like it the way that it is, but i think it would bring it together if you had a white tail with the same red stripe.

Here is a photo i made with a little help from Photoshop :)
I capied the tail from a silver faired Fazer and paste it on the naked on
Looks nice

i liked the retro style of the white one too..but as a Welshman the tank looked too much like a English flag :Flip:
