I have no idea how it got there.
I was restiing the 1 - trip to zero and now I cannot get it off of km/h

Hold the button down for a couple more seconds. I think it's the top button if your gauge is the same as the 2006 model.
to switch press 'select' button for at least one second

done it myself a few times, press the select button off the trip until you get it back to the original mileage/km & then hold it down until it changes

Holding down 'RESET' (in either odometer or engine RPM mode - not one of the resettable trips) will cycle between displaying the time and the intake temperature.
Holding down 'SELECT' (pretty sure this can be done in any of the odometer/trip/RPM settings) will switch between MPH and KPH. It will also change odometer readings between miles and kilometers. I've never checked, but I bet it changes intake temp. between °F and °C too.
