The cable or latch mechanism seems to be really tight when first removing my seat. I don't want to break my key jamming it forward and it will eventually unlock but the cable might have to be oiled. Would this be the same procedure as a clutch cable lube? Any better solutions?

I'm looking into replacing the storage compartment/mud guard under the seat (the one where the tool kit is stored). It removes from the bike fine, but the seat lock attaching to it is a pain to remove. It is held on by some "special" screws, that are probably designed to be tamper resistant...
