Good news: I just moved to Palm Springs, CA. Love the weather and roads leading to Big Bear/Idyllwild.
Bad news: I had to sell my FZ6 to do it.
:(
So for a while, I guess I can follow you guys in my 2010 Volkswagen GTI as the refreshments cart for any bike trips. I'm trying to decide...
Is this because of riding preference or because you don't want to ruin the engine?
I ask because my house is situated on the top of a hill and at the bottom of the hill is a stop light. So basically, at green lights on my way home, I like to ring my bike out in first gear one last time before...
So, I'm getting conflicting information.
One school of thought says that any revs under redline is a-okay, regardless of gear.
Another school says first gear is used only to leave a stop and you should switch to second gear the moment you get moving.
Which school has more short buses?
I'm finishing 7th grade US Government now and I'll be moving into 11th grade American History this spring. Looks like I'll spend my Christmas vacation writing new lesson plans.
56th gear has always been a clunker for me.
It's good to have another teacher on the forums. My students always ask me why I didn't ride to class when I have to drive the car.
I don't think most non-riding reporters know the distinction between gear and seatbelts. When they report a fatal accident, they ask a few key questions: Was the driver drunk? Were they wearing seatbelts? How fast were they going?
We changed the oil about a week or so before the tire had a nail in it. I never noticed any smell then but it's possible.
As for the collar, it's no longer flushed on the left side. It protrudes about 1/8" out where the side of the wheel was grinded off.
What would a warped bearing cause?
So here's the story:
2 months ago, I ran over a nail and blew out my rear tire. I took the rear tire off and took it to my dad's garage to so he could replace and balance the tire after it took a week to ship in. So I finally get the tire after 2 weeks and put it back on.
However, I didn't...
This is a Japanese bike. Japanese culture has a historical tendency to change the names of great people to reflect their achievements. For example, Toyotomi Hideyoshi was born Hiyoshi-maru and later took the name Kinosheta Tōkichirō after coming of age. THEN he was named Ha-shiba Chikuzen no...
This is always my advice to people looking to upgrade because the FZ6 doesn't "have enough power." Right...
I have the luxury of having a motorcycle collector of a father who has several cruisers and a ST1300. I just borrow one of his bikes for a week or so and after 7 days on a cruiser that...
This isn't your engine. It's the clutch lever. Put some pressure on it during those RPMs and it'll stop.
You can spring for some aftermarket levers if it really annoys you.
I have a nail stuck in my rear tire and I was wondering a few things:
1. Can I remove the rear tire with just the centerstand or do I need to get a jack to hold it?
2. Can I just have the tire plugged or do I have to replace it entirely?
3. What size wrench do I use to remove the nut?
Actually, the standing-on-the-pegs thing happened once.
We have arranged that I will buy lunch if she makes dinner and what can possibly be cheaper than the lunch menu at a Mexican Restaurant? $2 burritos are hard to pass up.
I was taking her back to work and squirming the whole way trying...
