Garbage disposals are easy to do if you're replacing one that's died. It's installing a new one on a sink that isn't made for one that's a cast iron 'female dog'.
Hellgate or Mexi-Can't- Did you have to register your trailers with the DMV after assembly? I'm going to get one of these to carry camping gear and my bike for a trip to northern Cali next summer. I'd like to buy it a month or so before the trip, but if it has to be registered and plated, I'll...
Well... no drama on the way home tonight and it actually settled into a 1300rpm idle, so I'm pretty satisfied it's fixed. I'll look at the TB synch as I can.
Thanks for all your help and suggestions, everybody.
That's what I was afraid of.
Just for giggles, I also tried to do the TPS check via the diagnostic mode of the instrument cluster as shown in this thread:
http://www.600riders.com/forum/fz6-technical/181-throttle-position-sensor-issues-you-experiencing-poor-idle-mileage-stalls.html...
I bumped the idle up last night and rode into work this morning (10 miles). No issues at all. If the trip home is as carefree, I'd say this fixed my problem.
One puzzling thing I noticed- I had to turn the idle adjustment screw almost all the way to the stop to get it to idle above 1000. I'd...
Clutch then brake? Carp, I've been doing it wrong the whole time!
Most of the time when it would die, I would be coming off the highway to a stoplight. I'd gently brake at first, then progressively more until almost stopped then let off to come to a smooth. Nothing even close to a stoppy or...
That may be it then. I'm not sure where I got that 700-800rpm is normal idle. I just found the TPS sticky, so I'll check that as well since stalling and irregular idle it a symptom of that.
Thanks for the help!
I didn't change the brake light, but I did change to LEDs front and rear for the turn signals and plate light 6 months ago with weatherproof connections and heat shrink. They pull less power than the previous lights, but I'll pull the side pod cover and check those connections and the brake...
All- My FZ has developed an annoying and potentially dangerous problem. When braking at anything less than the tiniest amount, my engine will die on me.
The details-
It's started doing this is the last month or so.
It does it using either the front or rear brakes. If I have to grab brake...
Less than 3 months riding, I went wide on a left turn (not enough lean) and ran my FZ6 into the curb. Right before I hit, I stood on the front brake and was almost vertical when it hit the curb. I was pitched straight off, rolled once and stood right back up. The bike did a front half flip with...
FZ, former Subaru owner here. NASIOC.com, while catering more toward the Impreza owners, does have good local all Subaru sections and dedicated Legacy/Outback sections that should give you good advice.
Just stay away from the Off Topic section as it's not very friendly to outsiders.
That's what gets me every time I hear someone say they put Nitrogen in their tires. Does the 15-20% more nitrogen than air REALLY make that much of a difference?
According to Getnitrogen.org's FAQ-
They say it leaks less than air, but still recommend checking pressure just as often. Is it...
Hello all... I've got my bike torn down for mods and repairs and while it's down to the frame, I decided to throw some exhaust wrap on the stock exhaust from just aft of the cat through the can to try to lower the seat temps somewhat. Toasty buns are nice in most cases, but it limits my riding...
