Hello everyone,
It's been awhile since I visited this site. 2009 hasn't been a very good year for me. I filed for chapter 7 bankruptcy, received a layoff notice recently and had my 2006 FZ6 Yammie repossessed today. Fun, fun, fun.
I only had it a year and never in my wildest dreams thought...
I'm a truck driver for the San Diego Union Tribune. San Diego's only major newspaper. Me and my fellow truck drivers deliver thousands of newspapers in bulk to the various distribution centers in the San Diego metropolitan area where carriers handle it from there.
It's a living. :)
Don't know where this thread should go but how's it going where you work?
Where I work there's layoffs, paycuts and decreasing production. My health benefits now cost me 4 times as much as a month ago.
How many of you have been laid off? Had a paycut? Or anything else?
Hopefully...
Thanks, notjohndavid. I still haven't gotten around to fixing it but I will soon. I figured it was something small and easy to fix.
I appreciate the response and pic.
The economy really got to me last year and I filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on the last day of 2008. I decided to surrender my red 2006 FZ6 to the creditor since I owed more than it was worth. Not an easy decision. I borrowed money from my brother and bought a good used car that gets good gas...
I've got a 2006 FZ6 and the right side front turn signal is dangling. I know I didn't hit anything but think maybe someone parked too close and maybe hit it. Looking at it I can't figure out what holds it in. The opposite one on the left side is held in tightly but how? Does it just snap in...
Saw this on Los Angeles Times page.

Here's my pick for ugly bike.
1969 MZ ES 250/2 Trophy That headlight and front fender are hideous!
What's yours?
Oh, and what do you win if you show the ugliest bike of all time? FREE AIR FOR LIFE!!! :cheer:
They sell them in India and they are only 153cc. Kinda cool looking but not near as fun as our bikes.

I don't have the paper manual but do have the .pdf manual and need to know what size the nut is but can't seem to find it. I found something that said 24mm but that's not it.
I need to adjust my chain but don't have the correct size wrench and need to borrow one from a friend. I'm going to...
Suzuki introduced a new entry level naked 650 called the Gladius (priced at $6499).
Looks kind of feminine, don't you think? Wonder how it will compare to the FZ6?
I just looked this up: convertibars.com
I SWEAR I thought of this a couple years ago without knowing anything about ConvertiBars and wanted to call it AdjustaBars. I distinctly remember talking to a biker friend of mine about the idea and he's a helicopter mechanic and said he thought it...
Yep, if you're tall it's probably easier. It all has to do with angle of attack and leverage. Being a shortie, my chin only comes up to seat level and I just don't seem to have enough umph to pull it up and back. Grabbing the bar next to the passenger peg gives me that leverage and it's pretty...
Okay, I finally got it up. :cheer:
Actually I tried using the bars in the back but that didn't work so I used the bar that's just in front of the passenger footpeg to lift it up and it went up no problem. I think that works better.
Thanks for the help and for not laughing at my dysfunction. ;)
This is a little embarrassing. I've had my FZ6 for 4 months now and have never put it on the center stand. Honestly, I tried the other day with a full tank of gas and couldn't get it up. Spare the jokes. :)
Anyway, what's the best technique? Which foot do you use and where do you grab? I'm...
Re: Trip down memory lane... and a few more.
:D I never had any serious injuries on any of these.
Well, anyway, I was bored and it was fun looking up all those bikes.
