You can downshift a few gears but when it stops shifting you just have to release the clutch till it starts griping and then you can downshift a couple more gears. That's not a problem, but what happened to me was complete failure to downshift into 2nd N and 1st. It happened yesterday after I...
Just look at them! I never saw nicer pads, plus, they do have lots of design advantages over the competition. The quality is superb. These are the cheapest since they aren't colored and are made of some special kind of plastic rather than metal. (The pads only, not the mounts.) I payed 60€ in...
You mean because of the airbox mode? No. Just a bit more mid range torque and it's gotten a lot smoother since it doesn't brake so hard when you let of the throttle.
But if we're talking about color... that's another story. Much faster! :D
It has to be forced in, but you can gently stretch the rear end. I know this sounds odd but it's true. Go in with either back corner of the lamp and just force it in while stretching the rear end. I did this with the handlebars (back end) taken off, I don't know if it can be done if it's on the...
I can see why you're confused, that's just the place where I keep my disc lock. That way I don't have to lift up the seat every time I want to lock the front disc. I know that if it was under the seat, in most situations I just wouldn't bother.
Here's a pic of it:
WARNING! For anyone who...
Only the headlamps and the windscreen are new, well not new, but from some bike in Germany (ebay rules :D), all the plastics are original, I fixed them myself. Lots of patience, super glue, bondo and filler. That first pic shows the fixed fairing with my paint job. But then the tank needed to...
It sounds much "bigger" like it's a 750 or a 900 cc bike. Especially if you just tap the throttle, it growls man! Ha, ha! My friend that's also riding says that it sounds much better when I pass him at WOT. I can only tell from my perspective and I love it.
Here's a pic of the mod:
I...
Thanks guys! I can't tell you how happy I am now. It's like I bought a new bike! It looks different with the paint and both headlights working, plus, it sounds different too, because of the airbox mod. :Flash:
Finally! It's done! I spent 5 hours assembling it after work on Friday. It was so dark I didn't want to take pics. I bought it slightly damaged, the previous owner fell at about 20 MPH, broke the fairing, the headlamps and the windscreen which he painted black. So... They are all changed, plus...
We all need it.. and I don't know why don't they (Yamaha) install these on all of their bikes. FJR has it. Anyway this is how I did it. You really don't need to use wire this thick, it cannot hurt, but it's not necessary. I had it laying around so I used it, plus I bought a fuse holder that was...
White! Go with white or silver with black! I'm painting the bike as we speak, originally it was same as yours... I just didn't like that violet - blue combo. I chose this! Silver will be as light as possible and black will have some kind of pearl effect. (originally VW colour :D)
And look at...
That's the spirit! I already looked into it and have a good idea how to do it!
1. You'll have to take the whole rear part off otherwise you can't take the light out.
2. Unscrew those two screws and pull the light out.
3. Put 5 or 6 1mm thick shims on those two round holders the lamp is held by...
