    2006 FZ6 - Peoria AZ - $2800

The bike has 26k miles and is in good condition. It has a top box/rack, tank protector, power outlet, upgraded windscreen & seat, frame sliders, swingarm decals. There is a little rash on the left side of the bike where the previous owner dropped it in a parking lot. It is nothing major...

    Valve clearance check

I'm to the point where i am lining up the "T". It just seems odd it is not obviously marked where to line it up. I mean if I'm a little off will that throw off the measurements? The next turns are even more obscure. Just looking for tips and advice. Please note this is the first time I have done...

    TCX Five-Plus goretex boots

I have the same boots. I like them a lot as well, but they are my first real set of boots so I don't have much to compare them to.

The Fz6 Really is a Great Starter Bike

I've owned a Sv650s and currently have the FZ6. IMO the SV is the best starter bike. I know that is a constantly debated so like I said it is just my opinion.

    Top case advice?

I mounted a Besteem top box on the givi rack made for the fz6. Besteem boxes are a great value because IMO Givi charges a premium for what is truly just a plastic box. The mounting plate had to be modified a little (drill new holes in it). I've had my box mounted for a year without a problem.

Is $500+ needed for an easy to install top case system?

I installed a Besteem box (from amazon) on a givi rack. I can't get over Givi charging so much for a plastic box. The Besteem box works like a charm and I have not had a single problem with it. I had to drill new holes in the Givi mounting plate in order to get my box on it.

    Moving across the country

With ABF I load and they haul so I won't be able to check. One question not addressed yet is whether to leave the bike in neutral or not. From reading the posts on here it seems I should buy a wheel choc and straps although it is not clear whether the rear needs to be strapped down as...

    Moving across the country

Thanks for the advice and tips. David I'm moving to Phoenix. Probably Deer Valley or Peoria. I would love to hear about good areas to ride out there.

    Moving across the country

I'm not familiar with tying down my motorcycle. I'm planning on using an ABF trailer to move the bike along with my personal belongings. I considered just using the center stand but I'm not sure hat is a good idea. Any thoughts on how I should safely transport the bike. I'm moving from TN to AZ FYI.

    front sprocket lock washer/tab

It is "pre bent" just to show you where to bend it. Tighten the nut then grab a pair of pliers to grab those pre bent flanges and pull it towards the nut.

keeping your hands warm this winter!

Yeah, that is a good idea. I'll try to grommet these and see if the magnets I have will work. They are strong, but they're not near as thick as the ones you have.

keeping your hands warm this winter!

The ones I ordered from amazon are not strong enough. Have you taken yours out for a ride with those magnets? I'm curious to know if they will hold at speed. I saw these on K&J's website K&J Magnetics - Products. Do you know what strength those are that you have? The d88 - n52 looks to be...

keeping your hands warm this winter!

I looked on Ebay, but it is difficult to tell which ones are actually hollow with a bolt versus those that have a hex head recessed spot to tighten and loosen it. I suppose I could e-mail a couple to see. But even the ones you linked to earlier may or may not actually have a bolt that goes...

keeping your hands warm this winter!

I'm considering getting some neodymium magnets to mount mine to the bar ends. I don't know how well this will work, but that would be an easy way to install/remove them if the magnets work well. I'm thinking one magnet could be placed outside the mitt where njbill's grommet is, and put the other...

keeping your hands warm this winter!

I'm digging njbills setup so I order a pair of tusk mitts for my bike, but I'm not sure what that bolt is going into on the bar end. Do you have aftermarket bar ends? I really don't see how to fasten that to the stock ones. Please advise :)

    chains and sprockets

I just replaced mine. I would recommend Moto-heaven.com. They have really good customer service I would not order through the website give them a call. Also keep in mind if u go with an aftermarket sprocket you may have to deal with a new chain whine. Assuming you install it correctly the...

    Sprocket/Chain Change...Help me decide

Alright, I ended up going with an EK chain and a front and rear sprocket by Thrust company. Couple of points for those who have not done this before: 1) I used a rivet tool from motionpro. Pressing the plate on was a pain, I had to stick a piece of chain under the plate in order to...
