I'm actually very close to doing this mod as I have a 99' R1 Swing-arm and Shock lying around the House. I just need to be sure that it wouldn't handle like crap after I install it.

I've already been on sportbikes for several years already and got tired of the clip-ons and back aches. The FZ6 is fine but what's wrong with trying to improve on it? I'm only asking since I already have the bits lying around here in the house and I hate how the swing arm looks on the FZ6...

Has anyone tried this conversion? I have a 99' R1 rear shock and swing arm lying around and I was wondering if I can graft it on my FZ6 since the swing arm on the FZ6 looks like an old FZR swing arm.
