Agree on that one, although I do know someone who did, and they like it as a spare. I don't think I would though. Over the years I have bought gloves, trousers, a tank bag and a rider to passenger intercom from Lidl and have been happy with the quality for the money.

If it's an upright position you are after don't go for the sv1000s. I had one, as much as I loved the bike, it's not a comfortable machine. The fz6 is extra comfy, the s2 version even more so I believe.

What made it so intense?

What's the downside to belt drive? I've never understood what is the benefit of chain over belt or belt over chain. I know belt is often advertised as less maintainance ie no need to lube and so cleaner too.
