I thought the FJR was gonna be the last bike I ever needed. But after 2 years on a new '04 I only put about 6,500 miles on it and sold it. Went to a used FZ1 and was just as comfortable, but on a lighter, more agile bike that cost a fraction of the price.
I've had two. a Silver 2004 (hence the user name, ag = silver), and a blue 2005. One of the finest motorcycles ever made, for sure. A bike that just does everything well! Congratulations!
I'm like you. I like big, open ****pits (gotta watch who I say that to!). I like tall seats for plenty of legroom and less knee bend. I also had lots of big, tall bikes. In a comparison to the SV650 and a Honda 599, Motorcyclist praised the FZ-6 for it's large, airy riding position. To me...
This link is to the Yamaha parts fiche on BikeBandit. Which part are you referring to?

I got her!!
Only did about 50 or 60 miles today. I didn't have a bunch of time. But I LOVE this bike! I'm going to deck her out for sport touring with a Cee Baileys screen and Givi bags, probably V35s. Let the farkling begin! Woo-hoo!
The PO told me he had it lowered...
You betcha.
Nah, I'm keeping the DR. Just put new skins on her, Michelin T63s. Going riding Sunday in Richloam with a couple of guys from DDS (Dixie Dual Sports). Can't wait to ride with some real traction in the sand!
:D
You guys have good eyes! Yes, it did have a left side drop.
The PO was very upfront about it, almost apologetic. Absolutely zero plastic damage save for the front turn signal. I'm not concerned at all, but thanks!
:BLAA: Ha. Now that's funny!
It's my 25th. I've been riding streetbikes for 32 years. I just sold my second VFR800, and I have a Sportster and a DR650 in the garage. I've had two FJR1300s, two V-Stroms, two FZ-1s, and three DR650s, along with a Nighthawk, a Bandit 1250, a...
... with 200 miles!
YES. 200 miles. I young guy bought it as his first bike in Kansas City intending to commute. He changed jobs and moved to Florida, and stuck the bike in his dad's garage.
It looks like new. Chain was lubed the whole time, starts and runs perfect (not sure if...
Hey, all, I'm gonna resurrect this thread from last year because when I joined the forum at that time, I was debating buying a Versys or an FZ-6. Well, I bought a 2011 Versys and had a great time with it on some dirt roads and all, but I sold it recently and I'm picking up a 2008 FZ-6 this...
Hey guys, ag_streak here.
Age 50, 31 years of riding, currently in Florida. I'm considering the awsomeness of the FZ-6 for my next bike. I've had 18 so far. All street and dual-sports. Mostly sport-tourers. Just sold an '09 Bandit 1250 today, and I also ride a DR 650. I've had two...
Hey guys, I'm very interested in more opinions on this, because I just sold a bike and I'm struggling with the decision of what to buy next, an FZ-6 or a Versys.
