I could never seem to keep my hands warm on a ride under 40 (F) degrees, even with agood pair of winter riding gloves. So I decided to try a cheap pair of grip heaters, that I found on ebay for about $6 u.s. I figured, if they sucked I was only out 6 bucks! And surprisingly enough they work...
Using JB weld might be kinda tricky, I guess you could pull it off if it was really thick, because when you cut it open either with an angle grinder or a plasma cutter you are taking away material, that creates a gap that you will have to fill with the weld. Also if you open it up like I did...
There isn't very much to see, because of how JT packages their sprockets, but if anyone wants a pic (which does show the part number and sealed package) I can Email you the pics if you want to send me a PM.
Thanks, :D
I have a NEW in the package, JT 15 tooth 530 pitch counter/front sprocket (for the FZ6), for sale. $20 shipped (to a destination in the U.S.) or if you are local to the southeastern Michigan area, I'm sure we arrange for a local pickup, and cut out the shipping cost.
If you are interested, you...
You could try insulating that section of the mid pipe, with some exhaust "heat' wrap. Works pretty good for me.

Chase Harper bags have always treated me well, I've had one for years with no issues. I also use Nelson Riggs bags, I think they're a little cheaper than most, but last just as long.
How did going down a tooth on your front sprocket change your fuel economy, if at all? I am looking to make this change but commute about 80 miles per day and would like to keep a respectable average mpg. I would love to hear about other combination of final gearing and there result on FZ6...
The Scorpion looks like a great deal, I've never owned one but others have said good things about them.
Joe Rocket jackets have always treated me well, but I'm not sure how they compare price wise. "Happy shopping" :D
I did the same mod awhile back and noticed no gas smell after. I'm not 100%, but i don't think it should have caused any difference in your fuel/air mix or any drop in back pressure. You could always disconnect your batt to reset your fuel mix.
Good Luck!!
I try to keep a eye out for ignorant "cagers" at every stop, but there's only so much a rider can do to avoid an incident like this. I still worry about drivers like that every time my wife (a less experienced rider) heads out on one of the bikes!!! :shakehead: I think that guy had his "spider...
The FZ definitely has much better wind protection, since your doing a lot of highway miles, but then again the ninja 650r will do a good job of cutting the wind too. The ER is a fun bike, but I would go with the FZ6 if I was going to rack up a good amount of miles, less maintenance cost in the...
As far as I know Its a trade off, the Aluminum sprockets will wear out faster than steel, but are lighter and have less rotating mass. So if you are looking to shave off any weight you can and get the most power to the rear wheel, then the aluminum is the way to go. On the other hand, if your...
