    Looking for stock seat

I will look around my garage but I believe I still have mine available. Will update tonight after work.

Spark plug change - One of them looks off

I usually keep it around the powerband (6-8k). I like being able to get away from things at a moment's notice.

Thoughts from a new rider about the FZ6

Grats on the course. I learned how to ride on my own and my wife took the course a couple years later. Personally, I didn't learn anything new but I saw how it could help someone completely new to riding. Don't forget the course is meant for people that have never touched a bike in their...

Spark plug change - One of them looks off

Servicing the air filter is on my list. Using this as a guideline to figure out what all I need to do as well as anything extra I see on the forum that looks like fun.

What the heck do we call these things?

Someone else in another thread said they just say they have a Yamaha. For most people, that's enough. If they further question, I go with sport bike. And as BatmanFZ6 stated, correct them when they ask 'so it's a crotch rocket?'. Dirty looks are to be had.

Spark plug change - One of them looks off

If they are the stock ones (and I believe they are, I got the bike at 4k miles and it had 2 previous owners), it is sitting at 12,500 miles right now. When it first started it was at 1500 RPM and as the bike warmed up, it went down to about 1k.

Spark plug change - One of them looks off

I did change those for some fancy looking Iridium ones. Took about 2 hours and a scratched up arm/hand. Bike definitely runs a bit smoother now. Idle speed when warmed up was around 1k. I will have to check the air filter to see if its oiled up. I replaced the OEM one with a K&N one about...

Spark plug change - One of them looks off

I followed the sticky on spark plug changes in the How-To section and when I pulled off the #1 plug, it had some white stuffs around the socket part. All the rest looked the same (#2 was a bit darker on the threads). All of them ready for burial #4 #3 #2 (the black sheep)...

    Outpatient Surgery with anesthesia

They let you put pressure on it? I have had 2 ACL reconstructions (both knees) and both times, they said no weight on the leg for at least 2 weeks. Stitches could bust open and new tendon (assuming they did standard tendon wrapped screw) needs time to properly attach. For underwear, best bet...

Forum says touring tire; mechanic says sport tire?

What Motogiro said (he so smart :D). Best to have a matching tire so the compounds work together and you keep the maintenance schedule the same (assuming one doesn't blow up).

Forum says touring tire; mechanic says sport tire?

As someone who bought the PR3's, don't change your mind at all. The PR3 is an AMAZING tire for both touring and aggressive riding through twisties. If you do plan on riding in the rain, they added the siping technology so it whisks away water faster/more efficiently. I love mine. That first...

    Best Insurance?

I have Allstate, with home and 2 cars on plan as well, and I pay 16/month full coverage. Allstate also offers the winter break of coverage, or at least my agent reminds me come November . Anything more than 20/month for this bike and you better go searching for a different insurance guy.

Bat mirrors (looks pretty slick to me :D)

I do like those as they are similar to the ones I have so it wouldn't be much different. Did you have to buy the handlebar mounts separate?

Bat mirrors (looks pretty slick to me :D)

So I am in the market for new mirrors. My current ones, the left mirror, just the mirror part, fell off in the middle of a ride last fall, as the mirror was only held to the stalk by some rubber thing. These are very similar, if not, what I have: Bike it Kawasaki Z750 Mirrors £25.99. I...

    2006 FZS6 complete part out

If you have the two bolts/washers that are used to screw down the top of the fuel tank to the frame, I'll buy those.

Do you have the bolts that hold the tank to the frame right under the handlebars? Mine have disappeared.

    2007 FZ part out

Re: FS: 2007 FZ part out w/engine! (still active as of 4/24/12) Do you have the bolts that connect the tank to frame right below the speedometer? Mine are missing. Thanks!

    Parting Out - 2004 FZ6

Are the bolts that hold the tank to the frame under the speedo available? Both of mine seem to have wandered off.
