    2009 Yamaha FZ6 595 miles $6500OBO

Hey Dirty, Good luck with your sale. I don't know if you'll be able to cover your note, but I wish you luck nonetheless. Pictures would help, as always.

My heated grips no longer work, so...

I would like to, with your guidance, learn more about the wiring harness and various fuses on my FZ6. As I bought the bike second hand, he had already installed Oxford heated grips and an electrical plug for the heated vest. The bike has got a knob control for the electrical vest. Well...

    Got Pulled Over Yesterday...

Kazaa, I hear what you are saying, however, I cannot accept the fact that I should be penalized for bringing in the plates in goodwill. I asked to pay a fine instead of having the license suspended. No go. I never had a ticket in almost ten years. To suspend my license for something like...

Just took a BUZZARD BIRD to the helmet at 60 mph!

Wow. Glad to hear your OK. I would also suggest seeing a Dr. and getting a script for a CTscan at least. Better safe than sorry. I once got pelted by a rather large beetle. Felt like I got punched in the shoulder. Not fun and cleanup was disgusting. Glad your OK though.

Michelin PR3s or Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact?

The reason I said the Metz wear quickly, my friend, well actually in my MC, just bought the new 2011 which came outfitted with Metz tires. He got one season out of them. He's 42, and an orthodontist. So it isn't like he's burning through them. Actually got 5,600 miles before they both needed...

    Got Pulled Over Yesterday...

I hear ya. Except I was facing jail time if I got caught. Please, I know it was stupid to be out on the bike with a suspended license, but the weather was just too beautiful. Funniest part, as I am standing around (this neighborhood is primarily low income black, so people just stand around...

    Got Pulled Over Yesterday...

Not to revive a long since dead thread, but I found myself having to decide whether to run, or go to jail. Long story short, I was out tooling around. Nothing serious, except the DMV suspended my license for not returning plates after selling a car. They suspended me for bringing them in 6...

Michelin PR3s or Metzeler Roadtec Z8 Interact?

Funny you should ask. I am deciding myself and from everything I've read, I am going with the older model PR2. Hence, I would, if I were you, opt for the PR3. Like already noted, you'll change Metz before you change your fluids. Not good.

Does this cowl fit on the gel seat?

Thanks Ben. I appreciate the answer. On another note, if anyone who reads this can suggest an alternate seat cowl, please let me know.

Does this cowl fit on the gel seat?

Hi all. Search came up with nothing. Before I order this, does anyone know if this seat cowl will fit on the OEM Yamaha gel seat? Seat cowl: TCP 04-06 Yamaha FZ6 - Seat Cowl Gel seat: http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/accessories/acscitemdetail/5/430/1795/15909/all/1/6933/0/detail.aspx The...

Not an Fz1, Not an R1200c, but I am happy with my decision

Congrats Geoff. You like it is all that matters. My friend rides a Vulcan and it is a similar monstrosity. It does get up and go. Fat girls need love too.

After my back surgery, I'm BACK

I agree on the tires. Thing is, the only other bike I could ride comfortably would be a BMW R1200R (more $$) or a Triumph S3, which I have been on the lookout for. Tires and a tune looks like the way to go. Maybe a new set of HyperPro springs.

After my back surgery, I'm BACK

Had to give up riding for a season to allow the back to heal. (No, I wasn't in an accident; had nerve damage and compressed lumbar) Finally got the doc's ok (begrudgingly, mind you) to ride again. So, I am excited to say the least. Anyway, I've got some money to spend, so I thought I'd ask...

FS: OEM rear fender with turn signals

Found this and figured someone else may be able to use it. $25 plus shipping. If you can pick it up, I'd be willing to knock off a few dollars. Thanks.

FS: OEM muffler with plastic muffler cover

In cleaning out the garage, I stumbled on this. Haven't seen it since I swapped the OE for the Two Bros. I have seen these go for $75 here, so I figure $50, plus shipping should do it. If you'd be willing to come by, I could knock off a few bucks. Saves me the hassle of having to pack it...

    Throttle jerking

Redman, I too experience this issue. After a good bit of testing, it seems to me the culprit is the low RPM's. This bike likes to be run at higher RPM's. If you stay over 4k, you shoukd be fine. Hope this helps.

Anyone know a substitute for this bulb?

Only bulb I can find are from UK sites. Don't know why, but if anyone knows of a US substitute, please let me know. I blew the left one and don't want to push my luck riding without it for too long. Just so you know, I bought this bike with the FE kit already installed. Original owner...

    Potential Riders MUST READ!!!!!

After reading sportrider's entire article, I wanted to share my experience and my two cents as well. As with anything else in life, we must make an informed, educated decision with regard to the level of performance of our first bike. All the advice in the world will never translate to real...
