The dealer I bought my FZ6 from, said a 600 mile service was not needed. He just said be sure and change the oil and filter. I like dealers like that...

Re: what type/brand of oil do you use? Preferences? There is little science in preferences. You either base it on hard science, id est, collect data and pick an oil based solely on that data. Or, you pick what you like based on shear folly.

Re: what type/brand of oil do you use? Sure it is! Pick a good quality oil, without paying an arm and a leg for it. It will serve you well. Look at someone's analysis report of their oil will tell you way more than another opinion on the internet. I use Rotella and have seen oil analysis...

Two motorcycles, 95 Miata, and a 99 Ram pickup. The car is my wife's daily driver. The truck is only used to go to lowes or Home Dump.

I have a set of large Eclipse soft bags and they do not get in the way of my wife's seating position on the bike.

Tank bag. You can get some that expand to a large size, able to carry a lot of shirts, toothbrush, tire repair kit, etc...

I run a heated vest on my FZ6 and have no trouble with the battery staying charged. In fact I was reading another FZ6 owner's comments and he has the dual headlight mod and runs heated grips and vest without any problem.

That is exactly why I hate the media. They are such morons. They are starting to make the weather guys and gals looks smarter, though that is not saying much...

Now when you say "off topic", do you mean specifically relating to the FZ6, or motorcycle riding in general? Because looking at the most active threads, nearly all are motorcycle related. Actually I have the best of both worlds on SBN and the perspective of other, non FZ6 riders as well.

I chose "only sportbikes" as that was the closest correct choice. I do not wave to other bikes in my own town. I only wave to people when I am traveling. Seeing another rider in the middle of nowhere means a lot more than waving to the poser rider on his chromed out Harley, heading to Starbucks...
