So last month I sold my 2008 FZ6 to my nephew as he is learning to ride. I bought my self a 2015 Ninja 1000. Amazing bike!!! However, I now have several parts left over from modifying my FZ6.
Stock exhaust, like new condition, removed at 5000kms when I switched to Two Brothers cans. (Sorry Two...
DO IT!!! I just made exactly the switch you are talking about. I can on tonight to post so parts I swapped out for sale and say your post at the top of my list.
I am also in Canada, BC specifically. I bought a 2015 Ninja 1000 from Burnaby Kawasaki and sold my 2008 FZ6 to my nephew. The Ninja is...
Only managed 6,000km's last year due to 2 fractured vertebrae from a race crash. Living in British Columbia, Canada, basically same weather as Seattle. Bike is used for commuting to work 6 months a year and weekend road trips when I'm not racing.
Can be done, has been done before by several of us. You will have to fabricate one minor attachment under the mufflers. Very easy with a couple of bolts and nuts.
Many posts about this. Search or google is your friend...
Here's my 2008 with Two Bros cans and Givi V35's using the Givi racks and 351 kit. Install was almost right off the instruction sheet. Only thing I had to fabricate was one brace right under the mufflers, easily done with a 6" piece of readi-rod and 4 nuts.
Works fine, you may have to make your own mount under the mufflers for the givi racks, easily done with some ready rod and lock nuts, just like the pics above in this thread.
just got home from a 3 day 1600km trip through the BC interior, Vancouver to Nelson, to Vernon, back home to Abbotsford. Here's a few pics.
I'm on the Black 2008, my nephew is on the Blue 2007, and my older brother on the 1988 Harley
Anything name brand should be good.
I have always run the EBC HH on the street and liked them very much. On the race track I find that the SBS Carbon give the best power and feel, but wear far too quickly. The EBC Extremes have slightly less initial bite, but last 5 times longer than the SBS.
