Security: How do you keep it safe?

Insurance will pay either current market value, or replacement value (depending on your insurance). So if you paid less than that... bonus. I did, made a killing when my FZ6 was totaled. And that's how I keep my bike safe. I even leave my gear on it, unlocked most of the time. I figure if they...

    Power Commander 3 or 5?

I've got a PCIII USB on my GSXR. It works fine. As far as the base function goes, they're identical. The PCV has dual maps built in, but a quick upgrade on the PCIII adds in that ability. The PCV can accept gear input if you need that extra control (if you're not racing then probably not)...

Where do you keep the FZ during the winter?

What 2 VFRs do you have? I really miss the 98 VFR 800 that I sold. :(

    I bought an R1....now what??

At any rate, once you get her fixed up, she'll be a blast to ride. Looks like a project I'd want to get into myself.

    I bought an R1....now what??

Riiiight. And managed to flip the bike upside down and only hit the top... I do believe grass was involved (but not what he landed in, lol), and that those aren't stock fairings or the fairings weren't on while he was stunting. I've gone down at 30 and my tank wasn't even dented. My handlebars...

    Show me your footbrake lever....

It might be bent a little, but it's adjustable. So just knock it up a notch. Undo the pinch bolt and rotate it one notch, in other words. Same for the shifter. Rule #3: Don't push so hard when you wax. It'll fall off the center stand too.

    I bought an R1....now what??

Looks like a highside. I'd look into getting a new tank as well. Tanks that bend like that can rust on the inside, or develop leaks later in life. So, it's not like a "right this now" issue, but at some point in the foreseeable future. Was it checked out by anyone to see if the frame is still...

Yamaha FZ6 (S2): One year ownership review

I think you were right on. You should always adjust the bars, levers, and pegs to what's comfortable for you. What blocky said is like getting in a car after a 6'11" dude gets out, and have him say "Deal with it, they made it like that." Things like that are/should be adjustable for this very...

    I bought an R1....now what??

Doesn't matter. He's going to keep it. I was just going to fix up and sell my GSXR. See how well that turned out.

    You lie like a dog...

When I rode a V-Star 1100, I was lucky to make 45mpg. Lots of things go into gas mileage, but I imagine it was just a joke between them. If not and he was trying to brag, he's an idiot. In contrast, after 16 tanks, I make 35.6mpg on my GSX-R750 and that seems to be on the high end. So engine...

    What started you off?

My unplanned off is what started my mods. At this point I don't even remember what all I put on it. I think new handlebars and grips were the first for me out of necessity. I know I had HID Projectors from TRS (sold to someone on here actually) A FE kit FZ6 stickers from someone on here A...

    belly pans

They all require some kind of custom work afaik. At least paint. So, it wouldn't be a big deal to cut out mounting holes or spaces for the engine bar, if you going to paint anyway.

What would you do with a nail in your rear?

Patch and plug is fine. Make sure they actually do both. It requires removing the tire from the rim and inspecting the inside. If they don't do that, walk away. I'm sure they will though. The only caveat is that the tire is no longer "speed rated". So it's not rated to go over 120mph any more...

    Inline headlight switch

I wouldn't worry about it. DRL became mandatory on all vehicles a few years ago and were popular for years beforehand, so a lot of cars can't turn their lights off either. As long as you're not running brights I doubt they'll even notice.
