Does mpg matter to you? Does riding for more than an hour matter? It's not just the upgrade to a liter bike, you're upgrading to a supersport liter bike. Comfort and daily drivability take a backseat to pure performance in handling and speed. Sure would be fun for those short bursts of time...

Not the valve cover. The timing cover on the side. Similar to what they did in the R1 video. I would think you would want to open it up so you can set the engine to TDC. Obviously it is not a necessity though.

What crud? Why would there be crud in there? You can depress the pistons by hand they're so small. Replacing pads doesn't open the bleeders, no air introduced into the system, no need to bleed.
