    Rick Mayer Seat

I had a Bill Mayer seat on my FZ6. Rick and Bill are brothers and are the son of the original founder of the Russell Daylong seat. Bill Mayer does, in my opinion, a more thorough and complete rebuild of the seat from the seat pan up than does his brother Rick who, by the way, has a very bad...

    2009 Mileage Contest!

Bryan, this was for fun more than anything, and to get us all out there riding our great FZ6's. While the prospect of a prize was nice, the greatest prize of all has been the memories collected from some really great riding for me this year. Happy and successful New Year to you as you...

    2009 Mileage Contest!

I'm leaving tomorrow morning to ride to FL for the long New Year's weekend and, since I'll be taking that OTHER bike, I thought I'd go ahead and post my ending mileage. This is for the year-round contest, started in January 09. Starting odometer: 14738 Ending odometer: 23814 Not too...

    Givi rack rubber dampers?

One of mine went missing when the dealer installed my rack and side rails. I contacted GIVI USA and they very quickly sent me two for free.

Why Does Front Brake Line Cross Over Fender Right to Left?

Yes, mine is set up this way, as well. FWIW, my '09 BMW with braided SS brake lines is set up similarly with line running straight down between the forks and splitting in the center of the front fender.

    What GPS do you have?

I've been using Zumo 550 for 2.5 years. I chose it because I wanted XM radio capability (XM transponder is extra) for music, weather and traffic alerts, and I also wanted MP3 capability and bluetooth. Well worth the price, IMO. I've been extremely happy with it and appreciate that it came...

    Liscense or No?

No permit. BRC, license, then bike one month later.

Whats the best you have taken home from a MSF course?

I took the Beginner MSF years ago when I first got my endorsement and then took the ERC a few years later. The best thing I got out of the ERC was the opportunity to practice the U-turn exercises on my own bike and to push my comfort limits in a controlled environment. We did two sequential...

    Moab trip was awesome!

Thanks, Brenda! I did Zion and that area a couple of years ago and loved it. Was really glad this opportunity came up to ride the Moab area and see some different parts of Utah and far western CO. When I get out that way again, I'll try to remember your kind offer. Of course, if you ever...

    Moab trip was awesome!

Thanks Fred. I was on the white BMW, not a V-Strom. The BMW was definitely suited to the task of riding the paved roads, but not so good on dirt. Several in our group did trailer their small dual-sport bikes out there, and one rider from Colorado even trailered two bikes: one for...

    Moab trip was awesome!

I got to Moab on Sunday afternoon, May 10 and our group pretty much took over the Inca Inn and Adventure Inn on the north end of town. We rode the area Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Not sure if you saw my white BMW but it's possible. I definitely want to go back.
