Yep, Hand Guards are best mod i ever did for winter, along with heated grips! Here's how i did it.

WM: Yes, thanks, I saw that when you posted. Those PowerMadd's look great. I must check to see if available in the US. My only concern is about moving the switchblocks 1/2" away, because that in effect increases the lever distance from the hands, something I'm sensitive about.

ME! I've been sweating my you-know-whats off in the motorpool prepping vehicles for the hurricanes! UGH. The humidity sucks.

Hellgate request one of those Combination Generator and Air Conditioner units. Barrow one from the Air Force if they will let you. They have all the nice things. Keyword "Generator" should help justify it - hurricans and all.

Up here, we're starting to live it. Two commutes recently required the liner in the mesh jacket to stay warm. It's not even Sept and the leaves are changing! Global warming my arse! This is merely seasons shifting in time, thus the time/calendar theory is off the mark some how.

the ride to work this morning was 6 C (42 F for the yanks) in the rain.

and the countdown is on for winterizing the bike and putting it away.

Well, not been able to go out on the bike properly in 3 days apart from a quick 2 mins :squid: blast to the tabac due to the constant rain... That thing has a r1 motor in it.

its sure does its a yamaha rx1. its not as quick as an r1 top speed for me was 122, but on a track and 2 skis. its a real high pucker factor

Living in Michigan, I get the chance to have snow in the winter. Last year I rode all the way into October. I think I did one last ride in November and pulled it back out in March.

The mornings are cold, but the afternoons are just as hot. This last weekend was one hotter than average.

I'm starting to talk about snowmobiling too... I enjoy the winter but dream about moving south for the winter so I can ride the motorcycle year round. I'm just to young to be a snowbird just yet.
