How do you warm up your tyres - on the street and on the track? BTW yesterday I found an article on the Internet with some tests which prove there's no point in making twisties in order to better/faster warm up your tires.

and put my foot down to keep the bike from going down.
Maybe I should buy some of those tire warmers you see trackside for use before my morning commute!

Can you post the link?
The second-best way to warm tires is to take a hot lap. As powerful as
the sun proved to be, a good hot lap produced more heat than time in the
strong sun, and it's quicker, too.
The third-best way to warm tires is to leave the tires in strong, direct
sunlight. Just don't forget to get both sides.
But weaving, no matter how aggressive your lean angle and your speed or
how long the distance covered, does not build any additional heat in a
tire!
Isn't a hot lap just an aggressive, mucho lean, high speed weaving exercise? They used high performance tires...I bet weaving hard on coldish street tires with pressure below 35 will help them on their way to "temp" faster than a straight line would...it has to, no?
Nope, leaving the bike in the sun has more effect than weaving.
Sure, here it is - http://www.ftwracing.net/vbb/weaving-does-not-warm-t43.html
