Got the FE kit install tonight. Very nice and high quality. The only thing that was lacking was ANY instructions, I guess the Italians figure their product to so good it will just put itself together....and the plug-ins for the turn tail light are male, the stock Yamaha ones are female...humm...required a bit of fiddling but no big deal. Make 'em go gay and squish 'em with pliers. Quick and very dirty!

The kit comes with three different mounting plates, UK, US and some other country that is somewhere between the two sizes, Japan perhaps? I had the whole thing together and went to install the license plate and noticed the holes didn't align. I have the middle sized plate on. So I ended up doing 2X in the install. Guess I'm a pro now.

The light of the plate is real cool too, nice and small.

I decided to keep the stock turn signals as the Rizoma's were simply too much money to do front and back signals and the spacers to put them at the stock width. Maybe someday...

The only thing I have to figure out yet is where to put the registration sticker. It's currently on the stock fender, I'm open to any and all suggestions.

EDIT - Here's a few photos. I really like the kit, it's very well made and you can adjust the width of the turn signals and the highth of the license plate.

This weekend I plan to finish cutting the hugger. I need to buy some left and right tin snips as my straight cut ones can't make the required curves. I'll get it painted sometime...

Next week Fred  and I will tackle the R6 forks. :cheer: I can hardly wait to try those out! :cheer:

Oh...and then there are the Galfers...I want RUSSELL'S!!! I really hate to take them apart as the bleeding was a HUGE PITA! Even with a MityVac. :(

Okay my Google search is not helping me. Two things, 1st where do I order the Rizoma kit? Do I have to go through the manufacturer? Second the Russell Brake kit, same question. I have been happy with the Russell install on cars and would like to stay with a product I have confidence in. Sorry, but I would be even more interested in Goodridge if anyone can point me in the right direction. okay found the brake lines at kneedraggers, any other suggestions appreciated.

Rizoma products can be found at PJ's Parts. A very nicely run small business. PJ's Parts - Accessories For Every Bike And Rider

They are the only US improter for Rizoma.

As far as the Russell lines, it have been may years since I had a set made but I went to a speed shop in the LA area at the dude custom made them for my GS1100, on the spot. I think the cost in '86/'87 was $55.00.

I'm going to see what I can find for lines in the Austin area. There are several good speed shops here, however these days shops like to order parts as instead of making them.

Tolgatt - My bike actually looks very stock. Here's a recent photo, I don't have many on my work PC. I'll take some more this weekend.

Your bike looks FANTASTIC, Pete  .....pity about the blue, mind you. :D
I definitely need to get a lower cowl on my bike, it gives an FZ6 a whole different look and I would suspect that it is actually functional as well.
What a pity we all live so far apart; an FZ6 get-together would be a very cool event.
Looking forward to pics of the Rizoma FE install. What size is the registration sticker? Can't you put it on your license plate like we do here in BC?

I guess what I meant by looking stock is that there are no big stickers, no fancy paint jobs. Many of the things I've done aren't noticeable, brakelines, springs, etc. When I mod a vehicle I like it to look unmodded, as if the factory would have done it. That and making the bike look clean is important to me too, no sticker, badges, etc.

We have the license plate sticker and then we have a second sticker. Like the one that goes on the windshield of a car. It is about 1.5 inches by 2.5 inches. I was thinking I could take the Rizoma reflector bracket and make a small square piece of plactic that I could bolt to the bracket and then put the sticker on the plastic.

Dude I like your donut..
Is that just incase you wreck in water .
You can use it as a flotation device ...

How much did the seat cost ???

What happened to your right exhaust can?........it looks like there is a nice dent.

Looks great Pete! My only thought it loosen the screws and move the blinkers as far in as you can to tighten the package all up. Those stick out there quite far! At least you have the option to adjust them though!

The Corbin was about $625. Not sure if it floats. :Flip:

I've got them out all of the way. Not sure if I will leave them there however. I like the idea of having them out so the signals are further out from the tail light to cagers are crystal clear in which way I'm turning.

Thanks! :D

I've got a Rizoma FE too but it is a bit different from the one in pictures. The turn light signals support bracket is only for aftermarket ones...

Hi JSP - You are right, the ones that come with the kit are for the Rizoma signals, I also bought the FZ1/FZ6 adapter kit for the stock signals. It was about $26.00 USD. They are the correct size, oval shaped, and are angled to the turn signal is parrellel with the ground.

Speaking of PJs Parts, I got to ride with PJ for the first time this weekend. He and Paige (his wife, also known as MotoMinx) live about 25 miles from me and we (PJ only) rode in a charity ride on Saturday. What a fantastic guy he is. He's great to talk to and ride with and really knows his stuff.

They have 4 or 5 bikes, but he chose to bring the Ducati Hypermotard on Saturday. He said Paige had been riding it and since she couldn't make it, he finally got to ride it. It was the first time I'd seen one of these in person and WOW! Being that they're the exclusive importer of Rizoma, he's got the thing littered with Rizoma accessories. It's got a dry clutch, which isn't something I'd ever seen before...but the coolest part is, he's got the Rizoma clear cover on it so you can actually SEE the clutch mechanism at work...amazing.

PJ and Paige are GOOD people and you should give them your business if you're in need of something. They've got great customer service and love to help people!

Did you have a problem with the clearance on the license plate and the new LED Light that came with your FE?

Looks Good BTW....
