Hell's Angels are in town. There are cops everywhere and everyone on a bike gets extra attention from the police cruisers. We even have police from different cities here to help out the locals.

Quite a sight to see tons of Harley's sitting outside their hideout with a couple of cops staking it out across the street.

Airstrike?????

Pete you got any buddies with hook ups on the predator drone?

Training accident maybe?

Sorta joking.

You know I always thought those guys were bad, but then I met some. I was at a bike show/rally back home and the local chapter was there at a tent next to us. Nice guys to be honest. Now I am sure that doesnt hold true for all of them, but still.

The police must have reason to be on top of things though.

Nice guys??? Honest??? Are you serious? A Hells Angel is a Hells Angel.... Drugs, murder, organized crime, "Outlaws"... Thats why the cops are "on top of things". Other then those few personality flaws I bet they are great to hang with....:rof: There is a reason they are called 1%ers.

Yes I am serious. The guy was war vet and was extreamly smart. Why he joined the club, I dont know. But when I was talking to him I did not feel intimidated or threatened in anyway. He was a nice guy that had been riding all his life. We talk about riding and the trips he taken across country on various bikes...

Ive never had any trouble with the Hells Angels or the Bandidos in Germany and Denmark.

They seem a good bunch of guys who just do their thing and let everyone else do theirs.

Steve

So are they a club or a gang? We have the displeasure of having one of their "club houses" (locally) they frequently "hang at" it has a chain link fence, steel reinforced doors, full perimeter video camera system, and on duty security when they have a gathering.

Assault, murder, drug trafficking, extortion, etc. It begs the question. One would join a gang like this because...

Mom booted you from the house and won't do your laundry anymore?
My wife left me and now I have no family?
My online degree program went bankrupt?
WTF??

To hurt someone is easy, any idiot can do it, now to heal someone, that takes care and courage.

i think the days of the fearsome Hells Angels are in the past, now it is just a bunch of guys doing their thing, but the police still have to be cautious.

The really dangerous days of the Angels may be over, but they still traffic drugs, etc. and deal in less than legal comodities, shall we say.

They started using black Jeep Cherokees to take some of their more delicate business around in.

I knew an angel up north, and the tales he told would make your head spin, and not in a pleasant, "I just got off the rollercoaster" way.

For instance, They dosed a chimpanzee with LSD and let it sexually assault a member's girlfriend once, just because.

And the time someone let a sack full of kittens, (no, I'm not making this up,) out on the floor and they had a contest to see who could stomp the most.

I certainly wouldn't want to piss any of them off, so I steer clear. I turned down the few invites to their parties, because truthfully, I was scared of getting in too deep. Nice enough guys, and I can't won't say any more about the other things I have seen/heard.

Their secrets are safe with me!

As an aside, I earned my redwings once, but completely by accident. No patch on my coat, though... :)
I'm an accidental tourist of sorts.

I believe the absolute heyday for the HA was through the late 60's and to the late 70's, but they have their fingers in a handful of pies to this day.
Back in the 70's there were biker gangs all over tha place, like the Lexington Lords and the Bedford Barons.

That was when you could actually have a decent street fight and killing was the exception rather than the norm. You could truly live to fight another day if you lost, unless you "really crossed someone important".

Hats off to the Angels, for sticking it out like they have. The world still needs outlaws.

I can't comment because all I've ever know of them is what I've read online or what's in the news. I'd have to agree though that they've calmed down a lot since we don't hear much about them any longer.

When gangs meet, cops are always going to be on alert.

Go Wild Hogs!

Too easy! We have a new UAV section in the unit I'm currently in.

I still like the Mark 19, 40mm grenade machine gun. Beat a broken beer bottle every time!

Their annual meeting happened here in Windsor 2 years ago,,,they were everywhere,,just like this time they called help from other cities police departments,,
police were following them like a shadow,,,following every single one of them around....
ive seen a motel with 50 bikes infront of it,,,just outside the entrance there was a tree and a freaking sniper was sitting on top of the tree while public cars are traveling under him :D

i wouldnt trust any of them,,,there might be good people with the organization since they are huge,,,but the income of the group is from drugs....drugs lead you to more crime,,murder,theft,arsen..etc..

Back in the '80's when I'd tour the western US the only Harley riders I saw tended to be pretty tough dudes, not the dentists and lawyers of today - with all of the retail Harley costumes. Most of them were pretty cool and wave back. I guess they figured if a guy was ridding through Arizona in the summer he had to be a serious rider.

Now here's my Hell Angels story. When I was 16 years old the Rolling Stones were playing Folsum Field in Boulder, Colorado. This was about 1981 or 1982. The place was full of HA all decked out in their colors. Well, skinny, zit faced "Pete" goes to get some nachos. The place is packed, wall to wall, elbow to elbow. I get my nachos, soak them in cheese, and George Throuhgood comes out and bangs out a few notes. The whole crowd moves at once to see what is going on. In front of me is a big, burly HA, tats (before tats were cool), big engineer boots, long hair, long beard, chains, all the crap. Well as the crowd surged to see George, I get smusched into the back of the Dude. My nachos, cheese and japalenos get smashed onto the back of his colors! OH CRAP! Even at 16 I had the common sence to get the F%CK out of there, and fast!!! Bob, weave, bob, weave and I'm back at my seat. For the of the show I was watching my six. Talk about paraniod! Later during the show I saw the Dude in the restroom washing his cools off. (probably the first time they'd even been washed!)

A magazine here in Belgium featured a couple of articles on them recently. We're talking about serious investigative reporting, not a Britney/Angelina/Paris kinda magazine.

The stuff they wrote about the HA's was pretty shocking. The way they operate is very much like a cult, where good innocent people get sucked in and aren't able to control their own lives anymore.

I haven't seen any around for a while, but in my eyes, they're not "cool" at all. They're violent thugs who give us bikers a bad freakin' name!

OK, and what do they traffic in that is totally legal? How many of you have ever dealt with a three piece patch group aside from Pete and had zero problems at all. Yes, they can be a problem and yes, they do traffic in illegal commodities but they also deal in businesses that are as legal as they next guys.

at this point i dont think its accurate to call it a "hideout"

;)

:rof::rof::rof::rof::rof::rof::rof::rof: Very perceptive mate.

When I was a we boy of 4 and my brother was 5, half a dozen Angels used to look out for us at Santa Pod raceway whilst my dad rode his bike up the strip. We had front row seats every time.

Nelly

The local chapter in my town do toy runs on a regular basis for children in social care.

Do the toy runs make up for the drug runs?

Just like corporations and government, the 1%er gangs do charity work in public and do their dirty work in private.

+1.

The cops and higherups in the government are running more drugs than the hells angels.

The last Sherriff we had was removed from office and many of the deputies as well because they got caught...
