fz6 throttle body and tps

What happens when the bypass screw reaches the end if it's thread? I tried to check my TB vaccums, cylinders 1 and 4 are on spec (gauge's needle slightly fluctuating at about -220 mmHg) while 2 and 3 are about -185. I tried adjusting no2 but the screw reached its end (clockwise) so i could not match with the reference cylinder. Also turning the screw for no3 did not seem to make any difference. I read that it's important to match all four readings but should I alter the reference setting of cylinder 1? The service manual does not recommend it if i got it right. Never done this myself before so I wonder.
Have you checked the vacuum take off hoses for breaks or splits where they come out of the front of the cylinders?

There's a short metal tube that the hoses connect to, but it's thin, as are the hoses, and they can get a lot of strain and movement which causes the tube to wear a hole in them.

I have already fixed the exact problem you described on hose no3 which was quite visible. But haven't checked the rest for micro cuts, I need to investigate every hose thoroughly. That's the main reason I decided to sync it myself since I am afraid that the mechanic had synced them without noticing the leaky hose. Removing the plastic insert from the end of each hose raises the rpm, but i don't have the experience to dudge if this is enough to ensure that there is no leak. New hoses are on their way, I will replace them if needed. Are they the only cause of leak?

Open the base screw to about 1 full turn and tune the rest to that.

That should give you back the adjustability.

Also, I'm at sea level, you cannot the Hg to the level Yamaha wants, ain't happening..

As long as their all within 10MMs, your good...

My last sync, (some fine tuning):
I was always wondering if this liquid this tool has is actually Hg. Is it? And does it also need air flow restriction to dampen the fluctuation or does the liquid dampens itself?

One more thing, shouldn't the filter box be installed when syncing?

That was the cause of the leaks on my hoses, but you can also take out the plug on the end of each hose, wet a fingertip and put it over the end.

If it gets sucked on, you're fine, if it doesn't, you may have another leak elsewhere.

If it's like mine, when I disassembled it because things weren't moving smoothly, you might find it's actually four metal rods!

I took it apart, gave them all a good clean and degrease and that helped a lot in the balancing process.

You don't really need the filter box on unless you're in a dusty environment or there's a risk of anything falling into the throttle intake mechanism, but it's up to you.
