Hey All,
Just got back from a great road trip up to Vermont and points east. My wife and I took the cage this time.
I'm from Ohio so it's not a major shock to see somebody riding without a helmet in a state without a helmet law. It was really surprising though how many riders don't wear helmets when the law doesn't require it. Amazing! It seems that most people need a law to force them to protect their brains. We won't even talk about body protection... Maybe 5% of the riders I saw over the past week and a half were wearing protective clothing.
There was one :squid: in particular that I wanted to tie to tree and beat with a sock full of wood screws. He was in front of us on a two lane twisty with few passing zones and a lot of traffic (a long line of cars in front of him.) He was wearing shorts and a tank top. His helmet was clipped to back of his bike. He was riding the center double yellow waiting for a chance to pass, riding maybe 5-10 feet behind the car in front of him, weaving all over his lane without any idea when/if he was going to hit gravel or any other hazard and so on. He didn't go down that day as far as I know, but he will soon and it's gonna hurt. IDIOT!
After that rant I feel the need to admit my personal folly from last week. I rode my friend's XT350 all over his farm in VT wearing a helmet, t-shirt, shorts and some glorified sandals. I guess I can be a :squid: too.

j/k Seriously though, keeping my loved ones safe is my top prioroty, even in lawless NH.
