Just installed FZ1 bars

I went to the local yamaha dealer and ordered a set of FZ1 bars, well they came in today and now they are clamped to the FZ6 just had to drill one hole and the rest was a piece of cake, they give me the riding position i was looking for, and it only cost me 30 dollars.

LOL no the insurance co. totaled my silver 05 i just bought this one about a week and a half a go its a 06 in the fastest color made (so ive heard anyway)

Nice mod, whats the ride like? Why did you want the straight bars?

I thought the FZ1 and FZ6 handlebars weren't switchable.

Hey youngGun, looks good. I was thinking of doing the exact same mod. I was concerned about locking the bars, are you able to lock your handlebars? Also, where did you have to drill the one hole?

Total install time was about 45 min, had to drill a hole on the throttle side for the little set peg on the throttle of the FZ6. I wanted a little lower and forward riding position but not as far as clip ons......Bars go lock to lock with no clearance problems.

do they fit with the stock fz6 bar clamp?

Yes bars bolt directly into the stock clamp no mods need to the bike itself.

onlt down side i can see is that the FZ1 bars are about an inch wider, wich i guess isnt realy a down side because now that i have put some miles on the bike with the new bars i like the little extra leverage i get when throwing it into a corner! :thumbup:
