NEW, classic, Honda CB1100

Love this bike. No dealers around here have one that I can test ride to convince myself that I need to spend the money though....

I actually have a soft spot for these bikes, idk what it is. I see these big single round headlight, it's wiered because they arnt pretty, i am strangely attracted to these.

I love the old classics, especially when their updated some (disc brakes). Just wished the put the old exhaust style on it.

The original CB750 had 4 pipes, 2 on each side, stacked, sticking out the back...

That was the first BIG bike bike I rode when I was about 16 or 17years old. Wound it out like my old 125 Yamaha, look down, HS, running better than 80 MPH! It was dads friends bike, brand new.

The way those headers come together is reminiscent of the original CB400F.

I like the retro look, round clocks, round headlight, twin shocks, this one is even more retro than the XJR1300 with it's chromed rear shocks and mudguards...

It's a sharp looking bike. It has a nice, clean look to.

They said the same thing about this bike that they said about the FZ. Does everything well, does nothing exceptionally. So refined as to be almost bland. Typical of a well designed motorcycle.

Why is everybody so uppity about the exhaust? Especially on this forum where everybody has a set of pipes on their bike. The 4-4 exhaust is just inefficient, thats why just about everybody put a 4-1 on all of the older (now cafe era) bikes. the big deal is the transmission, with the correct amount of gears this time (six of them). so many bikes out there could have been candidates for the stables but have 5-speeds and therefore dont deserve a slot. the big 3 that could have been:

FJR13
ZRZ11-12
CB1100 (the old one)

How cool!!!!

My neighbor used to have the 500 single (way back), it had to be dead on (compression stroke as I re-call) to start it or you'd get hurt....

Didn't they come out with a manual decompression valve on those 500 singles? I thought I read that a long time ago about the SR500.

I think its just me bitching about the pipes.

I know it has a six speed (good!), but, IMO, if your going retro, the four pipes sticking out the back were a classic signature of the bike in its day.(I believe they did have a connecting mid pipe underneath, at least on the 750)

The bike isn't a super performer with a basic valve set up (not 4 per cylinder, probably screw type valve adjusters, low rpm range, SOHC) so most folks buying this bike, is likely doing so for the retro look (not high performance).
